Recon gameplay changes
I might be in a minority but in the Beta I almost exclusively played recon class, using carbine in breakthrough.
The strength of this class/gameplay:
- you can put a deploy beacon in a sneaky place
- motion sensor to watch corners
- if a tank comes, you can throw a smoke and C4 it into oblivion
- if they kill you you can come back ready to defend/atak objectives immediately
I enjoyed the *** out of this gameplay loop but with the latests changes it seems that neither smoke grenades nor deploy beacon will be available anymore.
Recon is the only other class that can deal with tanks and it seems to get a huge nerf before launch. If the intention was to discourage camping I think the long range gameplay is the only viable way to play this class, with arguably boring side quest as a spotter for your teammates.
My feedback for this change:
- assault class seems popular enough without spawn beacon
- assault class seems strong enough with sling-shot ability
- arguably assault becomes a better long range class than recon due to sling-shot
- recon loses a core gadget that has been in this class for years
- recon loses viability as an anti-vehicle class due to changes with smoke grenades.
- aggressive recon gameplay was incredibly fun and versatile before this change, but is not viable anymore

Personally, I'd love to play a class that has spawn beacon, smokes AND viability to destroy vehicles.
As a last though:
The beta was incredibly successful and fun, I'm not sure if changing so much is the move. Hopefully labs feedback is correct but I still have my doubts.
