Remove MR Missile from IFV

Dear Dice,

Respectfully, IFVs are broken.

By design, they are intended for fighting infantry.

Currently IFVs can one-shot any flying vehicle or AA...

The IFVs offer little counter-play due to the lock-guided "MR Missile" and laser pinpoint combination. A laser designated target will receive no warning of an inbound MR Missile, have no way to escape through countermeasures and is thus a guaranteed unavoidable one-shot kill. Moreover the lock and fire range is huge, covering the whole map and beyond the playable boundary. This feature massively out-classes the AA's capabilities - which seem to be rather weak.

I would argue that even without this game-breaking mechanic, an IFV by design should not be used to fight other vehicles.

Please consider removing MR missiles from IFVs.

  • they also have no clue what they are doing when it comes to the vehicles, neither with the movement or the balance, it feels like the dudes working on this game never played it themself, sometimes i wonder if they have an ai that just spits out random bits of code

  • Well Mr. Helicopter pilot as you said every other AA missle in the game is pure trash and almost impossible to bring down choppers or planes you know it you said it you fly. So the one thing that can balance the battlefield and stop the  heli, and plane ungodly straffing and mini gun barrages you want removed.  I want you to try shooting down a plane or chopper with anything but the IFV and you will see why it is fine the way it is. Its a laser locked weapon and if your painted you should be hit. Its designed perfect leave it alone.

I respect your opinion, but have you considered that there are stinger missiles, mobile AA, automated AA, RPGs & other assorted launchers - most of which can shoot choppers if laser targeted.

there is nothing wrong with the missile or the way its being used, the painting mechanic is the problem, you point at someone for 1 second and stop and then they are painted for 10 more seconds, by what? the painting should only be on when there is an actual painter and for a lazer guided hit the painting should be applied all the way

right now you can jump into gunner seat, paint someone for 1 sec, jump back and lockon and get a secure hit, thats wrong and broken af

cant count how many times i died to a painted hit while im not even visible to the painter, if they just catches you for 1 second before you go behind cover the painting stays on

they need to fix the painting so it works as intended, add ecm to the chopper and first then will everything be alright

No. One can clear whole sky within seconds. No and its addressed as a bug. Same goes with jets heatseekers, broken. Heatseekers ignore flares and dont have income indication, just like ifv mr missile.

You have no clue what you’re talking about and it’s just a skill issue. Likely the only reason you been able to get ground to air kills in the IFV is because it is a completely bugged and a broken mechanic. As the pilot can’t even tell if there is an incoming missile and by chance you do flares do not counter (weapon description on the lock-on munitions says they should).

You are practically cheating and say designed perfectly, you should uninstall.

Many options to take out air, helicopters probably the easiest with the massive amount of rpgs shot and the fastest ever aim guided munitions in the game. Two missiles than can be shot in one reload from the ANTI AIR VEHICLE will take out any air.

Or get good and challenge the enemy in a dogfight, rather than sitting back at spawn bug abusing. Only such a baseless comment comes from someone who plays like that, skill issue.

All I want is an announcement from the dev team stating whether or not this is intended, or is it going to be fixed. But the devs and these forum moderators are just quiet as hell.

  • Known bug, but it's beyond me that they haven't disabled the missile yet (like they did temporarily with the jet aa missiles)

  • Well technically you’re wrong and right. “infantry fighting vehicle” doesn’t mean they’re for fighting infantry. It’s a vehicle platform designed for the infantry to fight from (11M, mechanized infantryman) . Ex: an infantryman cannot destroy a tank without having to lug around a javelin tube. So, that’s the purpose of the Bradley, to carry infantrymen to the battle and then support them with the mounted weapon systems.

but as of right now the Bradley fighting vehicle does not have a IR guided missile mounting option. Only the TOW, that’s why the tow launcher raises when using “light missiles”. That being said, TOW stands for Tube-Launched, Optically sighted, Wire guided missile (manual ATGM). But the Bradley also has a track feature  in the M2/M3 so theoretically you paint the target yourself by putting a little box on it and then the gunner hand station will follow said box when firing any munitions.

So in conclusion, the Bradley is actually Nerfed compared to the real life vehicle. Because you cannot auto guide all the munitions onto any vehicle, only the the ATGM missiles.

hope this helps you cope for the skill issue.
