I mean they removed Rush for a time, and Rush is probably one of the most Battlefield modes in the game. I don't see removing gauntlet as the "make or break" move.
I'll say the same thing about removing gauntlet as I did for rush or any other mode. There's no way that there is an additional server cost for running the same amount of games and hosting the same amount of player no matter the mode. If there is a cost excuse, it is a lie. Also, removing a mode to try and up your numbers in another mode is sheer idiocy. Players won't say "Oh well, guess I'll play this mode I don't actually like." They will leave the game completely. I'm certain you could track a dip in total players, and not just a momentary "they got bored" dip, but a legit "They're gone and ain't coming back" dip, if you track it against modes being removed.
EA has a game that people WANT to play, and WANT to enjoy. It seems like their business model is shutting down the people who want to play though, because MANY of the choices they make for the game seem to be anti-player. I don't think they understand either that being anti-player means being anti-customer.

I completely agree with everything you've said here. You've described the situation perfectly!
My friends and I are in exactly the same position. Gauntlet is pretty much the only mode we still play in Battlefield 6, and it's the main reason we keep coming back to the game.
If EA decides to remove Gauntlet, we probably won't switch to Rapid Royale either. We'll most likely just move on to another game.
What makes this even more frustrating is how little attention Gauntlet has received. There have barely been any meaningful updates, no exciting new missions, and hardly any fresh content to keep the mode evolving. On top of that, major balancing issues like the overpowered INTERDICTOR still haven't been properly addressed.
Instead of improving Gauntlet, introducing new missions, fixing existing problems, and giving players more reasons to stay, EA now seems to think removing the mode entirely is the solution.
That simply cannot be the answer!
Gauntlet has so much potential, and it's incredibly disappointing to see a mode we genuinely enjoy being treated this way.
Removing Gauntlet won't make us play Rapid Royale. It'll just make us stop playing Battlefield 6 altogether.
I really hope EA listens to the players who genuinely love this mode and reconsiders this decision. Gauntlet deserves improvements and continued support, not deletion!
