Current In-Game Audio Adjustments
- Lower Effects Volume to reduce explosions and environmental sounds.
- Lower Vehicle Volume if available in your audio mix settings.
- Lower Music Volume and Menu Music Volume.
- Use the Headphones audio preset rather than Home Theater or Surround.
- Reduce Dialogue Volume if voice lines are contributing to clutter.
- Increase Master Volume afterward to compensate.
Common Community Suggestions
- Use the Headphones mix because it tends to make footsteps easier to distinguish.
- Disable unnecessary audio processing from third-party software (SteelSeries Sonar, Nahimic, ASUS Sonic Studio, etc.) if it muddies the mix.
- Use a custom EQ profile that reduces low frequencies where explosions, vehicle engines, and environmental rumble sit.
- Some players boost the 2–4 kHz range to make footsteps, and soldier sounds stand out more.
