Scope glint makes sniping frustrating – suggestion

Hi Battlefield Team,

I’m a casual player and my aim is not that great. My playstyle is more like Sun Tzu – I use the terrain and my tools to my advantage instead of relying on pure gunfights.

Because I’m not strong in close-range gunfights, I don’t get many kills and often end up dying a lot. What I’d really enjoy is being able to play like a “ghost” – hiding, waiting for the right moment, and taking someone out. But the strong sniper scope glint makes this playstyle almost impossible.

Sniping already has big disadvantages:

> Bullet physics and bullet drop make long-range shots very hard.

>It usually takes 2 shots to secure a kill.

>You need to predict movement and the “future” to even land those shots.

Meanwhile, automatic weapons don’t have these limitations: they keep the same damage at close and medium range, they have no bullet drop to worry about, and they can just spray with high fire rate. This feels contradictory, since snipers are supposed to be long-range specialists.

My suggestion: please reduce or remove the sniper scope glint, or at least make it less punishing (visible only at long distances, or weaker depending on the environment). It would make the sniper role more balanced and fun, especially for players like me.

Thanks for listening!

  • The shotgun is the only one shot kill weapon in the game but the high caliber sniper rifle isn't... neat.  What developer that knows nothing about what a high velocity bullet does with a center mass shot to the body chest cavity came up with these damage stats? Turn off the scope glare and up the damage for the sniper rifle. A working sniper in a combat zone should make people nervous, sweat and be cautious, not be a minor inconvenience and easy to spot, surpress and eliminate because he needs two hits to be able to kill someone.

  • Long range sniping can be fun, but it in the overwhelming majority of the cases doesn't contribute much to the team. In between long range and CQB there is a huge amount of space that snipers can also excel at. Instead of sitting at the edge of the map, move a little closer while sticking to cover. Not only will you get more opportunities to make kills, but you don't even have to worry about bullet drop/travel time all that much.

As far as scope glint goes, it was too harsh in the beta and they've already said they'd dial it back a bit. Combine that with specific attachments to reduce scope glint and you'll be less visible.

Battlefield games have traditionally had damage drop off at range for pretty much every gun in the game. We don't have the statistics yet, but I'd be surprised if Battlefield 6 is any different. Automatic weapons have limitations too.

They need to dial back the scope glint a lot, it's absurd and actually comical looking.  Maybe the glint should be timed, after so many minutes.
