Secure Boot is a UEFI security feature that prevents unsigned or malicious software from loading, but EA now require it to run games, forcing players to tinker with BIOS/UEFI settings, risking system stability, and causing unnecessary compatibility issues. It's an unnecessary measure that only makes life harder for honest gamers.

It's like 3 total button presses in the menus though it's really not hard to do and tons of online resources to find exactly where it is in any motherboard bios you have available. It's all clearly labelled and at this point because Win10 is losing support you REALLY should honestly consider doing it for just general security and safety even if you dont go to 11.
Took just a few minutes at most to set up on my brothers PC when he had to do it a few weeks back.
This is an implicit agreement we make as PC gamers. Things change, and we always are doing the "Ship of Theseus" to our systems constantly upgrading and updating them. Legit the only OG part from my first build is just a single SSD I have for storage and that one is now just extra space not even the OS drive anymore. It ain't that bad man get it done so you can get in the game.
I'm not attempting to change anyone's opinion on secure boot. Here's my opinion on it.
Pretty much everything has secure boot now.
It's a good idea to backup valuable data before enabling secure boot. I only see data loss occuring if converting MBR partition to GPT.
Secure boot won't stop cheating on PC because there's no restriction on which apps and drivers can be installed.
Consoles have secure boot plus restrictions on which apps and drivers can be installed. Making them more secure against cheating.
The next frontier in cheating will be a camera pointed at the monitor screen with AI computer vision cheats running on a separate computer that aims the crosshair automatically.
Hopefully DICE is working on AI anticheats capable of detecting AI aiming vs human aiming. Ubisoft's mousetrap is the only AI anticheat I know of that's capable of detecting AI aiming.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people with such narrow-minded views as you. You think that if you can set up secure boot in two clicks, then everyone else can too. I've been trying to set it up for a week without success. There is no secure boot option in my BIOS menu. I switched BIOS mode to UEFI, enabled TPM 2.0, the disk is GPT, but there is still no secure boot in the BIOS. I think this is enough to be expected from an average computer user. I followed everything I found in the descriptions step by step.
Why I am crying about secure boot: no, it's not because I'm a cheater and I won't be able to cheat anymore. I've never cheated in this game or any other in my life. But because when I bought the game, the hardware requirements met to my computer met, so I paid for it. If it hadn't worked, I would have asked my money back from Steam. But it worked.
Now EA has changed the hardware requirements in such a way that I am unable to start the game on my computer, probably my motherboard does not yet have secure boot, but the game does not detect this. However, I can no longer get my money back.
You won't understand this anyway. Your understanding extends to the point that anyone who can't set up secure boot is stupid, and anyone who cries about it is cheater.
I hope there will be someone more intelligent here who doesn't just look at his own situation and understand why this is causing problems for so many people.
Ricix_soldier please list the manufacturer and model number of the motherboard, desktop, or laptop. I'll take a look at the owner's manual for a possible secure boot solution.

I use a PC. The motherhoard is: MSI MS-7A15
I have the MSI Click BIOS (older version)
What I tried:
- I allowed the TPM 2.0 in Windows, because first time it was Disable
- I checked my disk with windows (C:) partition style: it was "GIUD Partition Table (GPT)"
- in BIOS at Security / Trusted Computing, I set the "Security Device Support" to Enable
- in BIOS I set "TPM Device Selection" to PTT
- in BIOS at Boot menu, I set "Boot mode" to UEFI
I restarted my computer and try to find the Secure Boot menu. It should be at Security menu, but it there isn't.
I'm sure I'm missing something, but you can see I did my best. It is more than two clicks.
Anyway, it doesn't matter if you can help or not. I appreciate you spend your time to try it instead of you call me stupid or cheater.
I don't want to set this up mainly because of BF2042, but because of maybe it will be introduced in other EA games, sooner or later.

You were right. I set CSM to disable and the Secure Boot option appeared. BUT! I set Secure Boot to enabled, than click the Save and Exit. My couputer crashed. Black screen and 3 long beep codes. I struggled for hours to reboot my computer, but even the BIOS wouldn't boot, so I couldn't set back settings. I searched the internet for a solution (using my phone) and finally I found it. I had to unplug everything from the motherboard and then plug it back. Now I have got into BIOS. I wanted to set back everything, but it was not necessary because it was done, like a factory reset. I'm at work right now, so I can't test if Windows is working, but if I've already gotten to the BIOS, it shouldn't be a big deal. I'm sure as soon as I can boot my computer, I'll delete BF2042. I'm giving up on it, it's not worth that much to me. I go back to Battlefield 1.
