they one shot every person, even from 40m away.
There is no shotgun that can one shot at 40 meters away with the default ammo. Even the shotgun with the best range loses its ability to one-shot at around 15 meters. I haven't seen the statistics for slug rounds yet though. I can't imagine slugs are able to one-shot you at that range, with the exception of it being a headshot. If you get headshot with a slug, it would be no different than getting headshot by a sniper rifle. In other words, you just got dunked on.
you cant aim accurately at all since the mechanic is based off of RNG.
Spread (Bloom) can be compensated using burst or tap fire. It isn't entirely RNG, the rate at which it increases or decreases are set. So as long as you find the correct cadence to burst, you should be completely fine. I'll grant you that the current implementation is very heavy on spread and that they should reduce it.
80% of players just use shotguns
While 80% is heavily exaggerated, there were temporarily more players using a shotgun, because of people doing the challenge and because the weapon sling is the first gadget you unlock. It is significantly less now.

Slugs are 1 shot just short of 20m and 2 shot at least out to 70m
