Do you mean the range finder auto zero'ing range?
or do you mean the sweet spot mechanic?
Frankly, you don't need to auto zero for anything sub 200(ish) range. Which is a ton of the shots you'll be making if you're not sitting back in a sniper's nest in an annoying spot (not PTFOing 95% of the time which, while great for KDR padding, is terrible for actually winning games).
Now if you mean the sweet spot mechanic...yeah...that is a craaazy mechanic that turns every single sniper into a single target noob tube at certain distances. There isn't any counterplay either. If you see a rainbow glint all you can do is "nope" out of the area, rotate somewhere else because they're arguably a bigger threat than a bloody tank at that point to you and anyone at your range.
