So after ~4.5 months they finally acknowledged that the progression was too slow

I am concerned about the time lag  for what was clearly obvious within days.

Is the HQ that makes the decisions enough Astronomical Units away that the information needs months of travel time at the speed of light in the void?

It was obvious for a casual player and it was eventually even obvious for even pro streamers who make a living from playing games. Only during the 2XP events, did the progression feel relatively reasonable.

It does not take a genius to get that attachment progression (lvl 40) for gameplay and the progression for the cosmetic T1 (lvl 50) are different beasts and the former should finish much sooner than the later.

Was all this until now an experiment to find out if enough "whales" would pay a lot of cash to buy boosts from the shop?

Meanwhile the vehicle ability progression ends at a very reasonable mastery level 15.

Do you think they will get progression  right after the update or will they just do a token change that is better but hardly enough?

  • Haven't had a problem mastering 10 guns in normal gameplay and I only have a bit over 300 hours in game and haven't bought a battle pass or pro, infact I haven't spent a penny outside of buying the standard edition.

  • The progression has been a serious issue since launch.  Well, for attachments I would say.

I'm totally fine with cosmetics taking a long time or even certain achievements to unlock.  But the reality is that I will unlock 20 optics I will never use prior to unlocking a suppressor, which is mandatory in this game for most weapons.  The cosmetics are just kind of... thrown in as an afterthought.

I'm happy they have at least spoken about it.  It's comical that they are like "ok guys we made it .0002% faster and we're gonna wait another 6 months before we change it again" but at the very least it is forward movement.

I'm not celebrating how it happened, but CoD lead designer was a very bad pick.  I think he was the source of many bad decisions in BF6, and may he rest in peace, but now MANY of the problems players identified are being addressed and some even getting fixed.

To answer your question, they will make another "tuning pass" to progression with the next step of S2.  It will also be a very small improvement.  I can't say if it won't be enough, small changes can have a significant effect that can't be reversed in situations like this.
