Spawn protection killing gameplay

Hey guys, I' a huge fan of your games. Started in Bad Company 2 and have been in love ever since. That said, this new C-Ram base defense coupled with the in base resupply/repair feature has created a camping situation like I've never seen.

I understand the need to protect the base and its vehicles, but I thought the "manned" C-Ram was well enough equipped and a balanced solution already. Now, in every game I play, no matter what aircraft I'm in,  every battle has turned into a drag race to the enemies Spawn. I spend many hours perfecting my fighting skills in the attack chopper, only to have every engagement start with a shot fired and turnover my gunner and I trying to finish the kill before the emergency gets home, gets protection and more health instantly.  Which has turned into me and my gunner learning how to kill enemies next to their C-Ram because they won't ever leave the base once they've been shot at. While were doing that we aren't able to support our team. We never will be able to when our number one threat can shoot us from across the map and hide before we can counter. Its just way out of balance.

This scenario also plays out in 100 percent of my matches now, (the enemy Attack sits in spawn, launching anti aircraft rockets all while being protected from enemy incoming fire, and endlessly resupplied and repaired) It's boring now, and I honestly hate that for the game.

The balance has shifted in a bad direction and the gameplay suffers significantly. I ask that you guys find a different solution, one that incentivises players to stay in the battlefield, instead of spawn camping at the cost of their teammates on the ground, and ruining gameplay by effectively becoming invincible.

Maybe have the C-Ram only protect spawned unoccupied vehicles somehow, or not allow it to block incoming munitions but shoot incoming vehicles instead to prevent vehicle theft at least, which i understand also ruins gameplay, but in a real battlefield is a real risk, and honestly was a fun thing to try in BF3.

The AA tank is another story, these guys now sit in their spawn, with a rediculous amount of range, and can almost never be killed. Couple that with an engineer supply drop, infinite guided munitions due to the drop, and C-Ram protection, in an "out-of-bounds" area, and you've got one guy ruining an entire match for aircraft. I've dealt with this many times and you spend the whole game just dodging guided rockets that never stop coming.

I get the idea behind it, but it's exploitation has really made the game frustrating to play anymore. Please take this into consideration as I dont want to have to play another game to find the same thrill I always did with yours.

With the utmost respect

  • I actually think the CRAM needs a buff, if anything… Today I got thrown into a losing match where an attack chopper was circling our HQ and constantly spawn-killing us (Liberation Peak). I spawned three times, lasted about 5 seconds each time, and then died. The guy had a 60:1 K/D. I left the match. Sorry, but this isn’t normal either.

I play a lot of heli and jet myself, and I spend plenty of time chasing enemies all the way back to their CRAMs. Somehow, it doesn’t bother me. And if someone keeps camping near the enemy base, they’re not going to have much of an impact in a balanced match anyway. There are plenty of other vehicles I can shoot at.

Maybe longer range for aircrafts and shorter range for missiles could be a good solution.

The AA vehicles with the guided missiles are really insane.
