Why Developers Leave Crossplay Forced on PC
Matchmaking Speed: Combining all platforms ensures quick queue times, especially during non-peak hours or in less popular game modes.
Player Retention: Larger player counts prevent lobbies from dying out quickly, which helps maintain ongoing revenue from microtransactions and DLCs.
Default Assumptions: Developers often assume PC players have the native advantage of a mouse and keyboard, meaning they do not "need" protection from console controller lobbies in the same way console players might.
Money is the reason.
They assume right, but it's 2026 and it's clear that misinformation on social media is out of control and gaming forums are just as effected by untrue claims as anything else these days.
