stupid matchmaking

At 5:15 pm Beijing time, I searched four times in 20seconds in a row on the PS5 platform's Japanese servers. DICE, take a good look at what your stupid matchmaking system is doing to players. Since when has the Battlefield series turned into a PvE game with a few real players carrying bots? The Hong Kong and Singapore servers have even fewer real players. I suggest that future Battlefield titles only be released in Europe and America. Players from other regions don’t deserve to play Battlefield. I’m done putting up with this ridiculous matchmaking system. I’m deleting it right now—not only has it wasted a massive amount of my time, but it also feels like eating a piece of **bleep**.

The gaming environment in Asia is much more toxic compared to Europe and America. Asian players would do whatever it takes to win. Personally, I own a high-end PC, but I still chose the PS5 precisely to avoid encountering cheaters. However, with the current matchmaking system, I simply can’t continue playing Battlefield 6 anymore.

  • I very much agree with you that it would be better for Dice to go back to the system of BF1 or something similar. Persistent servers and a server browser was much better for a lot of reasons. We didn't know how lucky we were back then. However, I play on console with crossplay on and I'm not sure if I've seen a cheater yet in this game. I realize I'm also at a slight disadvantage playing on a controller vs PC players who have keyboard and mouse but I've still done fairly decent and had a good time...and most of my games have definitely had a lot of PC players in them (I typically check the scoreboard to see what platforms are in my match). I just typically stick close to my squad mates so I'm less likely to get outgunned. So if you're not finding enough players to play with, I'd definitely turn crossplay on and give it another chance. I will say it would be nice for Dice to make the crossplay system so that consoles always play together, but a console player only ends up in a PC lobby if they party up with a PC player. That's how it is done in Rainbow Six Siege and I think that is a more balanced and fair way to do crossplay.

Here are several important issues that need to be clarified:

First, I believe that regions other than Europe and the United States can be referred to as low-player-count regions.

Second, I continuously matched into Conquest mode four times, each time on a different map. On every map, there were only about 10 real players. If the matchmaking system is truly effective, why does this situation occur? Why can’t these real players be grouped together?

Third, the reason for choosing the PS5 is to avoid cheaters. There are too many hackers on PC, and even without cheats, the hardware advantages and peripheral benefits of PC are something the PS5 and Xbox cannot compete with. So, why should cross-platform functionality be enabled?

In summary, DICE should create a server browser like in Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5, rather than using this foolish matchmaking system. It won’t be long before very few Battlefield 6 players remain on the Asian PS5 platform, as no one enjoys constantly fighting against bots.

  • They've massively improved matchmaking vs launch following the latest patch. If you are playing in a relatively low player count region, turning off crossplay isn't very wise
