[Suggestion] Map refreshment

Hello.

Can we please get new variants of existing maps? Like in conquest/escalation move capture points to different areas or change borders of the map a little? In breakthrough you could also move capture points, revert the attacking direction or just move the fighting area to different section of the map. I assume doing that is way easier, then just creating new map from scratch. Might be good way to attract players that left the game or just refresh experience and bring something new.

You do not have to delete old maps, just add more variants.

I’m absolutely not saying this to shoot down the suggestion, but wanted to point out:

    • Objs have to be carefully calibrated: you need the right amount of cover, open and covered avenues of approach, etc.
    • And then the flow of the game also needs to work. The space between two objs owned by opposing teams will see both teams trying to progress against one another, so you need interesting corridors to funnel the action, specific points to hold, etc.

The issue is thus that providing alternative objs requires not only adding or reworking stuff where the obj is located, but also reworking the path between a new obj and the adjoining ones. Getting this to work is far from straightforward, and while still easier than an entire new map, it’s still a lot of effort for what would probably be a minor change.

Definitely agree here. I am not saying it is super easy, but should be easier then creating new map. Game desperately need some content to keep players in.
