I play a lot of TDM. It’s been around forever, and I don’t understand the question about its existence. Might as well get rid of rush or breakthtough, no? They aren’t staples of the BF franchise if you use that logic.
The short rounds work for me so I can get out of the game quickly if I need to and not invest 20 minutes in a “big map“ game, and I prefer the more intense action.
This is how TDM has always worked. There are no additional consequences for deaths other than handing a point to the other team. Why change that? First to (50, 100, whatever) wins. That simple. Only thing I would change about TDM is the forcing you to spawn on squad members in SQDM. If they’re in a bad spot you just spawn/die over and over. Sure, I’d take longer matches too, but I don’t think they’re that far off as they are.
