The LMR27 is a play-to-lose weapon
I have no idea what the developers were thinking but this weapon just screams "I am inferior" every time I play it. This weapon just has nothing going for it. Everything it does other weapons do significantly better.
- It has 450 rate of fire, that means it's similar to the KTS100 MK8, or the AK4D, or even the SOR 556, yet all of those weapons are fully automatic.
- It has a default magazine capacity of only 10+1 and a 20 round magazine attachment costs a whopping 45 points. This is similar to the SVK-8.6 and the SVDM, despite the SVK doing more than double the damage.
- It loses the typical DMR 1.5x headshot multiplier and uses the 1.34x multiplier that's used for assault rifles instead. This means it does 36 headshot damage, which is still below the body shot damage of the M39. It only reduces the bullets to kill by 1, even if you end up using hollow point or synthetic ammo.
- It's supposed to be aggressive, but it has an abysmal reload speed of 3 seconds, which makes it the slowest reloading DMR. It's slower than any Assault rifle, Carbine and SMG and even loses out to the SV-98
- It has a 880 m/s muzzle velocity, but that's hardly competitive against 900 m/s of the SVK or the 1000 m/s of the M39.
The idea is that this DMR is supposed to be more aggressive than other DMRs, meaning that you'd use it at closer ranges than you'd do with regular DMRs. Yet I would bet that even the AK4D with a match trigger would probably be a better choice at those ranges and I still don't understand why I would even use a match trigger to begin with. If I wanted to go aggressive, even the M39 is a better option, as it has a bigger magazine, does significantly more damage and headshots actually matter with this gun.
So what exactly has this weapon going for it? It's like you could delete it from the game and you wouldn't lose out on even a single playstyle.
