The loading music for Wake Island is terrible, what were you thinking?

I hopped into Wake Island the second the mid-season Phase 2 update dropped, and I can honestly say I was shocked by how wrong the loading screen music is. This is not a small nitpick — this is a bizarre, tone-deaf choice that completely misses the point of what Wake Island is to this franchise.

Wake Island is the most iconic, defining map in the entire history of Battlefield. It’s the map that built this series’ legacy for over two decades. To slap a Japanese-style melody onto it as its loading theme is completely out of touch with the map’s identity and everything it represents. It’s genuinely baffling that this was the call — you have one of the most recognizable, beloved classic maps in FPS history, and you score it with music that has zero connection to its core identity, and zero connection to the classic Battlefield theme that fans know and love.

This is more than just bad music. It’s a misstep that feels disrespectful to the decades of legacy behind this map, and to the players who have loved it for years. There is no reason for this map to be framed around this musical tone. It sends the wrong message, and it ruins the entire build-up to dropping into a match on such a legendary location.

I am strongly asking the team to scrap this track entirely and rework Wake Island’s loading BGM the right way. The best, most fitting option by far is an arrangement of the classic Battlefield main theme — something that honors this map’s status as the face of the franchise. If for some reason that can’t happen, remix the Wake Island  from Battlefield V would still be a massive improvement, and infinitely more appropriate than what we have right now.

Loading music sets the tone for the entire match. For a map as important and beloved as Wake Island, getting this right is not optional. Please fix this. It’s a bad look, and it deserves to be corrected.
