If there was no recoil you wouldn't have to have aim assist without the slowdown means you have to have very low sensitivity so you can do the small adjustments sometimes the adjustments is a little as one or two millimeters.
Mixed input gaming shouldn't be a thing PC shouldn't be in console lobbies simple as that removing aim assist will mean controller players will 100% have to use macros
I don't agree that anyone needs anything in video games. I especially don't agree that anyone deserves and/ or is required to have software to help them while in a video game.
The adjustment you're talking about doesn't go into the details, so I have to guess. Also, most people on controllers have two different aim sensitivity (most not all).
One for when you're looking around (non-ads).
One for when you're (ADS).
It's now more common for video games to offer curves for both ingame. So one could have a linear curve for looking around, but a more refined and subtle concave curve to offer more sensitivity.
So in my honest opinion, aim assistance could be removed, and still controller players would enjoy it. But, there would have to be some kind of aim training system for setup that let you adjust settings while in game so each player could dial it in on the fly.
Also, I would never agree that a controller user is at a disadvantage without aim assistance just because they're facing someone with a mouse & keyboard.
In a first person shooter, I would rather have an analog stick so you could move repeatedly in a direction just by holding a stick at a certain pitch. With Battlefield having so many vehicles, the controller just works better in my opinion.

As a console player myself, I'm all for removing all aim assist from all consoles.
But then as a compromise remove (forced) crossplay with PC, too. No chance otherwise, apart from the most extraordinarily gifted two-thumbs players.
