I can only agree that nerfing the bot XP was a rushed decision. If there are people who want to play PvE even for progression's sake, then it should be allowed and not punished. Reducing bot XP to prevent players from creating farming servers is not solving the problem, in fact, it made it even worse. The capacity issue is still there, nothing changed, and now most of the servers are one player focused to compensate the loss of XP due to the nerf.
XP farming server are still more efficient than regular multiplayer lobbies, you can easily get 1000 kills in 30 Minutes on these servers, which equals roughly 100 regular kills. And to be fair, getting 100 regular kills in 30 minutes is quite hard considering how fast the regular rounds are over. Even if you have some decent rounds with 40–50 kills which is like top performing in most games, you still had to perform like that every round multiple rounds in a row to get to the level of farming lobbies.
So it's relatively safe to say that these lobbies are still the easy way to go, even after nerf. Which leaves us with the same issues as before, clogged servers and even less fun on portal servers than before.
Maybe one way to resolve this issue is to make every portal server a non-persistent server until the capacity issues are fixed so that they shut down if they are empty. Or maybe make some official farming servers with set experience codes so that you can monitor how many of these are online and cap that amount so that not every server is a bot farming server.
Thanks ! It such common sense that it's frustrating the devs do not simply monitor how many servers are running and how people are playing them. They do have feedback on player movements, shots fired per kill and so on... to update map flows and balance guns, etc...the tools are already here.
