THERMAL VIEW IN TANK
Hey everyone,
I’ve been playing Battlefield since the early days — every title from BF2 all the way to BF6. Back in Battlefield 4, I was ranked #11 in the world for tank gameplay, and I’ve spent thousands of hours mastering armored combat across all maps and modes.
From that experience, I strongly believe that thermal view for tanks needs to return in Battlefield 6.
It’s not about giving tanks an unfair advantage — it’s about restoring tactical awareness and realistic balance that made previous Battlefield games so engaging.
In the current version, it’s often extremely difficult to detect infantry using smoke, hiding in foliage, or camping with rocket launchers. The thermal view used to give skilled players the tools to spot threats, coordinate with gunners, and react strategically, rather than relying purely on luck or random visibility.
Why Thermal View is Important:
- Helps identify infantry and equipment hidden in smoke or dark areas.
- Improves teamwork between driver and gunner.
- Makes countermeasures like smoke screens meaningful again.
- Adds immersion and realism — every modern tank crew relies on thermal optics.
- Brings back a core feature that long-time players loved in BF3, BF4, and BF1.
I’ve seen every phase of Battlefield’s evolution, and I can confidently say that tanks in BF6 would feel far more complete and skill-based if the thermal view was brought back — even as an unlockable or upgrade option.
Hope the dev team considers this feedback from someone who’s been in the Battlefield trenches since day one.
