You DEVS need to take this way more seriously. Cheating has been ruining online gaming more and more every year. Look at the TARKOV documentary a couple years back.
If it was me I'd make a server side only game rather than this "arms race" BS devs always talk about, and always lose.
Utilise cloud gaming tech like Microsoft uses or Google was playing around with, or Amazon uses, NVIDIA, etc.
Make it server side / cloud based only and get rid of cheating instantly.
I'd rather play on a level playing field with 40ms of latency on the cloud than play with another cheater infested game.
so instead of doing this nobrain crap why dont you realize the game is essentially serverside, but
YOU still need to RENDER the depth buffer? What you think the game just magically renders on the cloud? Or do you just want a cloud gaming link to a computer, which would be one of the DUMBEST ideas ever, because the latency would kill you before any enemy would. Like seriously did you even think for 2 seconds on BASIC programming or like use your brain at all?
Also you still need to take the controls from point a to point b. In fact without access to the machine, you can only do server side analysis on inputs. How would you know if someone moved their mouse or just had a wireback do it for them? HOW? CMON TELL ME, HOW? thats right you wouldnt unless it was obvious enough to see.
Like if you use your brain for a second, you see that the game is as serverside as it needs to be and then some. Even the campaign is always online.
instead of advocating for even LESS game ownership and ruining everyones experience, why not do something useful, like rez a dude or something .
