Why is Portal being nerfed into Oblivion?

Hi guys,

I have had BF6 since a couple weeks after launch and am a BF veteran myself. Played every PC release and I genuinely have loved these games since I was a kid.

I know this is long, so TLDR: I have loved these games for a long time and it is so painful to watch Portal just continue to be nerfed and made irrelevant when it has SO MUCH potential, but literally no incentive and worse options that 2042's Portal in certain areas, like bots and XP. There needs to be incentive (25% XP for bot lobbies even), there needs to be the ability to create completely solo experiences with 63 bots aside from the player, and being able to push player counts like in Rush & Breakthrough, bumping those up to their former glory of 64 players, the ability to do so in Portal at least would all give players more choice and want to play around with Portal. More player choice in Portal = More Better :-)

Full explanation:

One of my favorite things from the beginning was being able to play with bots in 1942-2142 to learn the maps, guns, and other things before going online. I was really happy 2042 brought options back like that. Me and my friends & family that play would enjoy experiences I created for Portal, mainly filled with bots and less than 6 of us playing together. Sometimes other real people would join too and that was cool.

Anyways, I went on to Portal today and learned that I can no longer create matches that fill with bots and those bots leave for real players to join. In addition to that, there is no XP on Portal unless they are 'verified experiences' which just really sucks. In 2042, you at least got a minimal amount of XP, it was small, I could do terrible in a 'verified' mode in 2042 and get more XP, but it was better than nothing.

I was SUPER excited to hear all the improvements coming to Portal with BF6, thinking of all the possibilities with players being able to shape game modes and even create maps, but all of that is being nearly completely overlooked and that hard work is going to waste when people have NO incentive to play Portal modes.

And yes, I understand why some of these changes were made, to prevent unfair XP farming, but I think the solutions implemented there were too heavy handed. Like I already explained, 2042 did a better job of balancing that out, while giving you XP and BP points for playing, even if it was at a 50% rate. Players need an incentive to play Portal, and incentive to create in Portal, otherwise it is going to die and all that effort and love you guys put into it will be for not, and it can genuinely be something revolutionary and great for Battlefield, it has SO MUCH potential! The numbers in Portal are already dismal compared to 2042 at its lowest player count moments. The Redacted 128 player servers with bots in 2042 are NEVER dead. I would bet money I could logon and find one with action right now.

On a personal note, I play with my wife, and Battlefield 6 has actually been helping her to build a relationship with family on the other side of the US we only recently met. We hangout in Discord, play some matches, and have a good time and its a great way to get to chat and build relationships from such a distance. I wanted to create some cool Portal modes that were 64 player, but filled with bots (as in every slot has a bot until someone joins, like 2042) and then all five of us and other friends could play the server, plus we always leave it open to the public when we are on. Some of the people we play with are relatively new to Battlefield. Regular matches are fine, but a more relaxed bot match with the same Battlefield chaos would be nice, to learn the game, to goof off, and do all that without potentially doing our team of real players a disservice in the match.

All I wanted to do was create a Conquest or Escalation mode playlist with the maps we like best, and bots cranked up instead of being stuck with the quite limited Casual Breakthrough mode when we want something more relaxed. Not being able to start without a minimum of 8 or more players combined with not being able to fill every empty slot with bots is just another way that Portal has been nerfed from the arguably inferior in almost every other way, 2042 Portal. It isn't Battlefield when there's not a lot of players/bots out on the field and it feels like an empty wasteland.

I hope this reaches someone, I have doubts it will, but I wanted to say something at least.
