Why is the audio now actually worse?

The only improvement is footsteps are louder. Still don't hear an enemy approaching from behind 99 percent of the time. The general in game audio sounds as if it's coming through blown out speakers, it's absolutely horrendous. I've tried different audio settings and they're all terrible.

The footsteps are all over the place, you can't tell the difference between friend or foe, and you can't tell which direction the enemy is actually coming from. You can clearly hear the footsteps from far, but when you're expecting them to turn that corner, the enemy appears like a ninja in front of you or from the opposite side of the footsteps.
