Totally hear you, and I think a lot of us are on the same page here. After how 2042 launched, trust needs to be earned back, not just assumed — and one short open beta over two weekends doesn’t give much confidence that all the core issues will be addressed in time for launch.
You’re right — Labs is a good idea in theory, but it’s very limited in scope. Having a small closed test group is great for early tuning, but nothing compares to mass feedback from the broader Battlefield community, especially for a game that’s supposed to deliver large-scale, sandbox warfare.
The fact is, Battlefield hasn’t felt truly "right" since BF4 for many of us. That’s over a decade ago. If DICE wants to reclaim that Battlefield identity and get it right this time, they need to be open to delaying the release. A short beta window just feels more like a marketing demo than a proper stress test or feedback phase.
I’d much rather see them push launch back a few months and keep iterating based on open beta feedback than rush it and risk another messy release. At this point, we all want Battlefield to succeed — but it has to feel and play like Battlefield, not another generic shooter trying to ride trends.
Appreciate you raising this — hopefully the devs are listening.
