Xbox link solution, hope it helps

BF6 and xbox friends
Are you getting this error?
-------
Your accounts can’t be linked because your Xbox account XXXXX already linked to your EA Account for b3***** @disabled.ea.com. An EA Account can only be linked to one Xbox account in its lifetime.
-------

I was successful in having my Xbox gamertag un-linked from a deactivated ea account. Here's how i did it, i hope it helps. Plan for a computer or phone to sit for a while, mine was a laptop with a timer running for 2 hours before i was helped in the early AM, once the 99+ started moving, it went from 99+ to chat window in 5 minutes

- Ensure nothing is linked in your connected accounts

- Start a support ticket for BF6 while signed into your EA account
( https://help.ea.com/en/customer-care/ )

- Go to your open cases

- Click on the case to open the chat prompt and wait.

- Once they fix your link go to your profile and link your microsoft/xbox account
( https://myaccount.ea.com/am/ui/connected-accounts )

Thank you for contacting EA HELP, my name is Tricia Kellyjane, may I start with your first name please?

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:12:01 AM): Hi. Thank you for waiting. I hope you're doing well! Can I have your first name so I can address you properly?

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:12:10 AM): Steve

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:12:26 AM): Nice to meet you, Steve. How can I help you today?

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:12:32 AM): Your accounts can’t be linked because your Xbox account XXXXX already linked to your EA Account for b3*****@disabled.ea.com. An EA Account can only be linked to one Xbox account in its lifetime.

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:13:32 AM): Thank you for sharing this. It looks like your Xbox account is linked to an inactive EA account. Let me check this further for you. To confirm, XXXXX is your Xbox gamertag right?

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:13:44 AM): I hadn't played an online EA account since BF3 so i'd assume the account inacctivity triggerd this

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:14:10 AM): XXXXX

Is indeed the correct Xbox gamertag

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:14:23 AM): Got it. Let me locate where it's linked.

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:14:59 AM): I checked my [edit: email address removed] account and it wasn't there. I also checked on microsoft.com to ensure i didn't have an EA linking there.

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:17:26 AM): Understood. I have confirmed that your Xbox is linked to an inactive EA account. To reactivate it, you need to reset the password using the original email of the account. Apart from those you mentioned, do you have other emails you can check?

We have our guide on how to update expired password here: https://help.ea.com/en/articles/ea-account/reset-expired-password

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:17:49 AM): i had tried every email address used in the past i could consider

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:18:01 AM): and have access to none of the others it could be

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:18:52 AM): [edit: email address removed] - deactivated

[edit: email address removed] - deactivated

anything @evansville.net - long dead

[edit: email address removed] - not linked to it as i used it for my kids account so i could play the bf6 beta

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:19:14 AM): I see. In this case, I am unable to grant you access to the account anymore. What I can do for you is unlink all the linked platform accounts from the EA account. Do you want to proceed?

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:19:52 AM): Would that allow me to re-link my current Xbox gamertag (XXXXX) with my EA account ([edit: email address removed])

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:20:15 AM): Yes i'm aware unlink and re-link locks the account for 6 months

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:20:27 AM): Yes, as long as you have not linked any other Xbox accounts to your EA account yet.

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:20:41 AM): That is correct i have not been able to link anything with my primary gamertag

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:21:13 AM): You should be able to link your Xbox to it.

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:21:23 AM): I consent to un-linking my ea.com account under [edit: email address removed] and all devices under gamertag XXXXX

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:21:49 AM): Sure. Before I proceed, please review our disclaimer below carefully because there are risks of unlinking accounts. Thank you.

When we unlink a platform account from your account, you will be able to link that platform account to another EA Account, but your in-game progress will not transfer over. That means you’ll lose access to all entitlements, games, memberships or subscriptions, and in-game purchases that are associated with that platform account. You will also permanently lose all game progress. If we unlink a platform account you use to play FIFA or EA SPORTS FC, and that platform account is still set as active in the Web or Companion App, you will lose access to those apps entirely on your account. If we unlink a platform account you use to play Apex Legends, you may have issues with Battle Pass leveling, item unlocks, and other errors.

Once you unlink a platform account from your EA Account and link it to another, you won’t be able to unlink it again for six months. You also will not be able to link it to an EA Account that has already had the same type of account linked to it before, even if there isn’t one currently linked. That means if you’ve had an Xbox account linked to your EA Account in the past, you can’t link a different Xbox account to it in the future.

Can you confirm that you would still like to have the platform account unlinked from your EA Account?

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:22:03 AM): Thank you, I am attempting now to link

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:22:34 AM): Yes I agree and confirm to unlinking

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:22:48 AM): Thank you for confirming. I have unlinked your account(s) from the inactive EA account. You can now link it to your active account!

Our guide can be found here: https://help.ea.com/en/articles/ea-account/ea-account-linking

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:24:31 AM): I was able to successfully link the account within my EA profile

Tricia Kellyjane (8/12/2025, 11:24:42 AM): Awesome! It's my pleasure to help you today! Before we end our session, is there anything else apart from this I can help you with?

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:24:48 AM): I appreciate you help in this matter Tricia... I'm sure you guys have been SWAMPED.

Steve (8/12/2025, 11:24:56 AM): There is not at this time.
