All friend requests issues

Hi everyone, 
I have been playing battlefield 6 on PC through Steam but every time I send a friend request the receiver only gets a solid gray bar with the EA logo at the end and the only option is to decline the request. This error has happened to X-box, PlayStation, and PC.
all of my setting are open for friends and I have cross play on. I also confirmed that my steam account and EA account are linked.. if anyone has an Idea what I can do to fix this I would really appreciate your help
