Battlefield 6 crashes after splash screen – Black screen + instant BSOD reboot

Hi , I'm experiencing a severe startup crash with Battlefield 6 and would like to document it here so others can confirm if they have the same issue.

Summary

Battlefield 6 crashes immediately after the splash screen.

Symptoms:

-Splash screen → instant black screen with artifacts

-A very brief “Your device ran into a problem” BSOD

-PC automatically restarts

-No error message from EA App or AntiCheat

-This ONLY happens in BF6 - all other games run normally

-This issue appeared suddenly; the game played perfectly one week ago.

System

GPU: RTX 4070 Ti

Driver: NVIDIA Game Ready 581

CPU: [AMD RYZEN 5 9600X]

Motherboard: MSI B650

OS: Windows 11 (UEFI + Secure Boot ON)

Storage: NVMe SSD (GPT)

Another PC in my home (RTX 4060 Laptop, same driver) does NOT have the issue, which suggests GPU/driver or BF6-specific behavior.

Already Tried (none fixed the issue)

-Clean reinstall NVIDIA driver

-Disabled all overlays (GeForce Experience, Steam, Discord, Rivatuner, MSI Center, etc.)

-Reinstalled EA AntiCheat (Javelin)

-Verified BF6 files (EA App + Steam)

-Running both EA App and BF6 as admin

-Disabled all background software

-Updated Windows, BIOS, chipset drivers

-Other DirectX 12 games run perfectly

I’m trying to figure out whether this crash is isolated or something affecting more 40-series users.

If you’re running RTX 4070 Ti / 4080 / 4090 with 580+ drivers on Windows 11, could you share:

-whether BF6 starts correctly,

-or if you’re also seeing black-screen → reboot behavior

-or if rolling back your NVIDIA driver made any difference?

Even a short “works for me”/ “same here” reply would help a lot.

Thanks in advance!

  • MOKO_R18 check Windows Event Viewer after the crash for error messages about BF6 or EA anticheat.

If I don't reply to your post then personal message me. Sometimes the forum fails to notify me when someone replies.

    I'm experiencing this on a Ryzen 5 CPU / Nvidia 3080.

I saw some AMD gpu folks had success with updating to the latest windows update so I tried that -> now the game only freezes instead of forcing a hard reset like it used to, so I have to manually force it myself.

One thing consistent I keep seeing in the event viewer is the Nvidia OpenGL Driver will always say "Ran out of memory".
