Battlefield 6 crashes every match

Hello Battlefield Support,

I am contacting you because I have reached the point where I simply cannot play the game anymore.

The game now crashes virtually every single match.

The crashes are inconsistent:

  • Sometimes the game closes straight to desktop with no error.
  • Sometimes I receive a DirectX 12 / graphics driver crash.
  • Occasionally my entire PC unexpectedly reboots.

System specifications

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • GPU: AMD RX 9070XT
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • Windows 11 64-bit
  • DirectX 12

Troubleshooting already performed

I have spent months trying to resolve this and have exhausted nearly every recommendation I have found from EA support articles, community posts and Reddit.

I have:

  • Used DDU in Safe Mode to completely remove AMD drivers.
  • Reinstalled the latest driver.
  • Reinstalled Battlefield 6.
  • Verified game files.
  • Reinstalled EA Anti-Cheat.
  • Reinstalled DirectX.
  • Disabled Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling.
  • Limited FPS to 120.
  • Tried numerous graphics settings combinations.
  • Cleared shader caches.
  • Repaired Windows system files using DISM and SFC.

None of these have made a meaningful difference.

Additional observations

  • The issue occurs on multiple maps.
  • It is not tied to one specific error message.
  • Sometimes there is no error at all.
  • Sometimes DirectX reports that the graphics driver has crashed.
  • Sometimes Windows simply reboots.
  • This behaviour is unique to Battlefield 6.

At this stage I am no longer looking for generic troubleshooting suggestions unless they involve something that has not already been attempted.

I would appreciate if this case could be escalated to the engineering team, as this appears to be a genuine compatibility or stability issue rather than a basic driver installation problem.

If there are any debug builds, additional logging options, symbol-enabled crash dumps or diagnostic tools that would help identify the cause, I would be happy to run them and provide the results.

I have invested a significant amount of time trying to resolve this because I genuinely enjoy the game and want to continue playing with my friends. However, the current stability issues make it effectively unplayable.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello! Thanks for getting in touch about your crashing issues. Can you get me a DxDiag report? Instructions can be found in this article for diagnosing PC issues. Just attach it to a response and I'll look it over for anything that could be causing the crash.

Are you sure this is the right DxDiag? Your OP says you have a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and AMD RX 9070XT. The DxDiag says you're using a Ryzen 9 9950X3D and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090.

  • HI

Do you have GIGABYTE AORUS AI SNATCH installed on your system?

The reason I'm asking is because I had very similar instability on my own Intel system. I was experiencing game crashes, graphics/driver-related crashes and occasional system instability.

What was strange was that I wasn't actually using AI SNATCH or any of its AI overclocking features — it was simply installed. After trying various troubleshooting steps, I eventually decided to completely uninstall AI SNATCH, and that solved the problem for me. The crashes and instability stopped.

That's why your situation caught my attention, especially since you're using a GIGABYTE X870E board. GIGABYTE also offers AI SNATCH and EXPO AI Boost on their AMD X870/X870E platforms.

I'm not saying this is definitely the cause of your Battlefield crashes, but if you have AI SNATCH installed, I would definitely try completely uninstalling it and testing the game again. In my case, simply removing the software was enough, even though I wasn't actively using it.

Just thought I'd mention it since you've already gone through so much of the usual driver and game troubleshooting. It might be worth eliminating this as another variable.

Thank you. That's better. I'd like you to try these next:

    1. Install AMD Adrenalin 26.8.1 WHQL.
    2. HAGS was re-enabled. Disable it again. You can verify this in the DxDiag. It should read Enabled: False. You'll need to reboot to get a new DxDiag. This is just to make sure it's off.
    3. Launch BF6 with one monitor. Use the main one at 1440p. Disconnect the other. Temporarily set it to 144 or 120 Hz with FreeSync/VRR disabled. It would also be good to disable AMD Record & Stream, Instant Replay, Metrics Overlay and the Adrenalin in-game overlay for the test.
    4. If you still crash, Collect every .dmp from C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports created when it fails.
