Battlefield 6: No Middle East servers for 6 months, High Ping
Hi EA / DICE team,
I’ve been playing Battlefield 6 since launch, and before that every Battlefield title going back to Battlefield 1942. This franchise has been a big part of my gaming life for over 20 years, which is why I want to raise an issue that is seriously affecting players in my region.
For about six months, since the data centers in Bahrain and the UAE were hit, there have been no Middle East servers available for Battlefield 6. As a result, all players from the UAE and the wider Gulf region are now routed to European and Asian servers.
The impact on gameplay is huge:
- Before: 20–30 ms ping on the Middle East servers
- Now: up to 150 ms ping on EU/Asia servers
At 150 ms, competitive play is barely possible. Hit registration feels inconsistent, we lose gunfights we should win, and the overall experience is frustrating. This affects a large player base across the Gulf region, not just a few individuals.
My questions:
- Are there any plans to restore Middle East servers, or to move them to another location in the region?
- If so, is there a rough timeline?
- In the meantime, could routing be optimized, for example by prioritizing the closest available data centers?
I understand the circumstances were beyond your control, but after six months the community in this region would really appreciate an update or at least some acknowledgment of the problem.
