Battlefield 6 Tokyo Game Show (Bushido Dog Tag) Code "Expired".

Last year, a friend of mine who attended the Tokyo Game Show 2025 Expo stopped by the DICE/EA Station where they got freebies including a physical Bushido Dog Tag (Katana with Japanese Kanji "Certain Victory") along with a Redemption Code for the Same Dog Tag in-game.

This Dog Tag as many of you may know is an exclusive freebie from the Tokyo Game Show 2025, and its redemption as per the cards is valid until October 10th 2027. My Friend came back from Tokyo last week and we attempted to Redeem these codes on both the Official EA Battlefield 6 Redemption Site and the EA.com/redeem section. Upon entering the code on either of those sites, we are shown "Battlefield 6 Reward 6" indicating the codes are valid, however when clicking "redeem" the website then tells you the code is "expired". Not Used, Just Flat Out expired 18 months early.

Important to note this issue occured for both me and my friend. We attempted all the previously suggested fixes on this Forum to no avail.

Naturally I then approach EA Support, an endeavour that took 7 days entailing 20 back and forth exchanges which eventually led to a 5.5 hour live chat which amounted to:

1.) "EA and DICE does not provide or sell any codes" implying that Im lying about how I got the code despite me literally sharing my Friend's Entry Ticket to the Game Show and several photographs/selfies taken at the EA Stall

2.) "Go back to your retailer" despite 39 different mentions by me that there is NO retailer, it was a freebie.

3.) "Unable to Verify your Code as we never produced it" despite it being practically an impossiblility for this code to exist without EA's knowledge.

4.) "We have no record of the existence of a Tokyo Game Show, please contact the organisers for a fix".

With that being said, I'm out of options and need some sort of way for EA to honor their "contract" which states the Code is Valid till 2027.  EA support has been a deadend with 5.5 hours spent with 4 different reps to no avail.

Its disheartening that people who are buying the codes off ebay for 25-40$ from a random reseller are getting superior customer service to people who got their codes legitimately at the event.

Thank you for your time.

  • Supposed Expiration of December 31st 2025EA will not Honor the code card, despite showing it expires October 10th, 2027.

I'm in the same boat. My friend recently returned from their annual Japan trip, they did attend TGS and brought me back the code card and matching dog tag.

Went through multiple advisors, All telling me the same thing. I got annoyed.

One of them did mention the code expired December 31st 2025. But no where does it say that for anyone.

EA will not Honor the code card.

The small tidbit you shared of the interaction you've had with support leads me to believe we had an extremely similar and frustrating interaction with them.

They fail to understand that the code is not for sale and was a hand-out, they fail to understand that there is no "retailer" you can reach out to, and they fail to honor the expiration date on the cards.

    2 things baffle me:

    1. "Contact the Seller/Organiser" - Even IF a seller did exist; what is the Seller Meant to Do if ALL their codes expired 18 months earlier than expected. The real issue is the EA Booth that handed theses out is IMPOSSIBLE to contact, and they were the ones to hand these out and not the TGS organisers.
    2. The 10/10/2027 Expiration Date on the Card is exactly 2 years post-launch yet somehow the cards expired a mere 50 DAYS post-launch. Leading me to believe they either mislabelled the codes or internally did not assign the codes their appropriate expiration. This isn't the customer's fault and EA should still honor the codes if they are valid and unused.

It should not be that hard to get the database/excel sheet with all the codes generated and grant them their rightful redemption window till 2027 - but I doubt the customer ever matters in these cases since its a free product and zero money exchanged hands; so why help us I guess.

Exactly, after spending hours talking to then, I genuinely don't belive they understood what a convention is. They told me the codes expired and they cannot grant me them, even if the codes actually are or aren't. They can clearly see the card is labeled with a specific date.

The thing that baffles me is that there is no way that we the community would have known of any expiration date that wasn't printed.

It concerns me that they didn't even try to make amends. I get hit with the same copy paste end of script bs.

As much as I wanted my in game dogtag, I at least have the irl one I can hang on my bag.

I'm curious if they will re-release this at some point.

This is insane. You should get a severance pack for the time you had to spend with those support agents.

Just to add some additional context to this issue. These Bushido codes were ALSO handed out as freebies to Chinese players for a separate promotion. Details are sparse on what exactly that was, but its the reason why the amount of codes being sold second-hand is quite high compared to the amount of visitors to the TGS booth. It was noted that the expiry on the Chinese codes was shorter than the TGS physical handouts, ending Jan 2026.

I suspect back-end, the codes actually ALL had the Chinese expiry, which has now made all codes entirely unusable. This sort of information 100% needs to be available to the support teams, as it looks like they are completely in the dark about it.

I appreciate this information. I just wish they would honor the code card that was handed out. The whole process just made me sad.

At least I have the physical dog tag that matches on my backpack.

I ran into the same situation as you. After explaining everything to support in detail, they said they’ve documented the issue and escalated it to the relevant team. At least this time there seems to be some hope, let’s see if there are any updates in the near future.
