BF6 crashes after ~10 minutes - 0xc0000005

Hi,

I'm aware of the other threads regarding this issue, but I'm filing another report to hopefully provide some additional information and get some traction on this.

The issue must have started between last Wednesday and today, as I had no crashes when playing on September 8th.

After around 10 minutes of playtime, the game crashes to desktop without any error message. The CrashDump and a DxDiag are attached.

System:

ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 10GB

Intel i5-12600K

32GB DDR4

Windows 11

No CPU/GPU overclocking, stock settings

Things I've tried so far:

1. Disabling DLSS
2. Disabling Steam and Discord overlays
3. Clearing BF6 and NVIDIA cache
4. Clearing DirectX Shader Cache
5. Downgrading from the latest NVIDIA driver to 610.88 using DDU
6. Verifying game files through Steam
7. Stress-testing VRAM with OCCT for ~1 hour - no errors
8. Re-installing EA AntiCheat

The crash dump consistently points to an access violation in nvwgf2umx.dll while BF6 is using the D3D12 rendering path:

0xc0000005 - INVALID_POINTER_READ - nvwgf2umx.dll

  • Update:

I have changed my BIOS setting from XMP1 to auto and was able to finish a round of conquest without a crash.

Please have a look on what's causing the issue with the XMP profile out of the sudden.

  • [The Cause]Following the recent game updates (which enhanced Javelin's memory integrity validations) and the latest NVIDIA drivers, the system now requires flawless data processing from your RAM. Under these new, hyper-strict parameters, a very subtle physical compatibility gap (a standard memory scaling variant in custom PCs) under XMP1 was suddenly flagged, resulting in the 0xc0000005 access violation out of the blue. Please rest assured that your high-spec hardware is absolutely fine and not broken.Rather than permanently sacrificing your hardware's potential by running it below rated specs, here is the proper procedure to naturally restore your full XMP stability:

1.Apply the Latest Motherboard BIOS UpdateDownload and flash the latest BIOS version from the official ASUS website. This will overwrite your system with updated memory controller profiles and stability patches designed to electronically fix and override memory compatibility issues.

2.Ensure Windows 11 and Game Client are Fully UpdatedBring your entire OS environment up to the absolute latest version to eliminate any unexpected software discrepancies with Javelin.

3.Re-enable Your XMP ProfileAfter complete hardware modernization (BIOS flash), go back into your BIOS and switch XMP back ON. If the compatibility patch is successful, you will comfortably clear Javelin's strict validations at your memory's full rated speed.

4.The Ultimate Physical Resolution (RAM Replacement)If the 0xc0000005 crash persists under XMP1 even after the BIOS update, your memory kit has reached its physical individual limits. The proper solution is to replace the RAM with a fully compliant kit officially verified on your motherboard's QVL (Qualified Vendor List).
