Bf6 crashing during launch
This has only started to occur after the season 1 update. I launch the game, and after a black window appears, the game crashes back to desktop without any obvious error message.
Windows event viewer shows 2 different messages for different crashes (of the same nature):
- Faulting application name: eaanticheat.gameservice.exe, version: 1.0.29299.0, time stamp: 0x68f7a131
Exception code: 0xc0000374
Fault offset: 0x0000000000117885
Faulting process id: 0x1B14
Faulting application start time: 0x1DC49551C7794F2
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.26100.6899, time stamp: 0x234c0f50 - EAAntiCheatService: The game bf6.exe exited unexpectedly, exit code: 0x80000003
Rarely, I am able to launch the game normally, and I can play about 1 match before the game crashes randomly (both during and between matches).
Specs: rtx3080, ryzen 7800x3d, 32 gb ddr5 ram, 2 tb ssd with 1 tb+ free (where the game is installed)
Found that it is failing write/save data to my new SSD that works for every other game except Bf6, I found this via Event Viewer. It causes corruption of several files and then my drive fails to be recognized until a PC reboot.
I moved my game install to another drive, reinstalled the anticheat manually, restarted my system, and now I can play without crashes (2 hours so far without any).
If you have another drive, try moving your install, it has worked for me. Ultimately, EA need to fix the game, because my drive is not damaged and works for everything else.
