It's not a PSU issue for the majority of us. There are hundreds of players who have reported this same issue and bf6 is the only game this happens in. I've tested hundreds of games on my PC, a lot of them being more power hungry than bf6 and they run with no issue.
There is a real bug on the bf6 or driver side side that is causing these hard crashes for a lot of people. It's been happening since beta.

Majority of those people are reporting software crashes, not PC reboots. PC rebooting is 95% chance to be faulty hardware. Doesn't hurt to try a new PSU simply to rule it out, that's all I'm saying. OP also saying their 2080S is old and doesn't "want" to pull 250w also doesn't make sense. A 7yr old GPU isn't some ancient relic and should still be capable of that. Again, sounds like faulty hardware, regardless of which games/applications expose the fault.

One of the highest voted and active threads for bug reports is about hard crashes, not software crashes...

I'm having the same exact issue and I have a 1200W PSU with a huge amount of headroom. I even had a spare 1000W PSU to rule out my current one and the crashes continued.

Doesn't hurt besides telling OP to spend money on a new PSU? The possibility of a PSU only showing faults on one single game, especially if other games that pull more power than bf6 and don't crash is slim... It's even more slim when the issue is being reported across forums by many people.- Utherr933 months agoRising Rookie
rusbreakbot some people on reddit have this issue with a 1200W+ power supply (with a non xx90 nvidia gpu). I know one of the users reported that he swapped his PSU with a more powerful one and it solved his issue, for others the issue was still there.
That's why I'm hesitant to blame the PSU and buy a new one, it's not a perfect solution with no risks (buying something that you really didn't need to)

Yeah I was in the the thread with that person that reported that PSU swap fixing it. I would bet money that was just a luck of the draw for that user and happened to fix their problem.
Agreed, I would be hesitant too. If there were minimal users having this issue, I would start replacing hardware but there a lot of people in the same boat we are.

There are a number of people in that very thread saying they're having crashes to desktop, not system shutdowns/reboots, so no, this issue isn't as widespread as you're making it out to be. Also, I recommended OP to TRY a new PSU from a company where it's easy to return the product, so that if they can rule it out, they can just easily return it and get their money back, not just buy a new PSU and keep it... I gave previous first-hand experience of a low demanding game (Phasmophobia) crashing my PC, not being able to reproduce it with stress tests, until finally it crashed and the PSU wouldn't boot any of my PCs. So yes, it absolutely worth trying out a new PSU, as long as it can easily be returned, especially once one has exhausted other solutions. But anyway I'm done arguing, good luck on fixing the issue.
