BF6 FPS and profsave issues

I recently uninstalled BF6 so i could take a break from the game. When i reinstalled it, the game now runs super bad, my frames went from around 110-120 on most gamemodes and maps, to as low as 60s now, sometimes in normal scenarios and especially when action gets heavy, (even on the smallest maps like hagental base and empire state). I have tried everything to get it to go back to normal. I wiped my NVIDIA drivers with DDU and reinstalled them, I ran a CFG file with a bunch of commands ( all of which I had on before i uninstalled the game, plus i added a few more to try to help). My settings are all exactly the same as they were before i uninstalled it ( all graphics on low, reflex low latency on enabled+boost, DLSS 4.0 with performance upscaling technique, does not make sense to use frame generation due to input lag and my already low standard frames). I then turned on above 4g decoding as a last hope, but i cant turn on rebar bc my gpu generation does not support it. I have gaming mode on, not using hardware accelerated GPU sheduling because i noticed it lowers my frames. I have BF6 set to run with priority and my nvidia control panel settings as low as possible with texture filtering on high performance. My resolution is 16:10, beacuse i play stretched, and i have even lowered my refresh rate to 119 from my native 144. I am not sure what could have changed that i cant get the same performance as before. The unsintall to re install time period was 2 days. nothing could have changed in the health of my components to account for such a massive performance drop. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it a few additional times after the problem first arose, repared the files multiple times, and played a few games to account for cache issues. No luck so far.

Additionally, I had a few settings that i customized in my PROFSAVE file for the game. Now that I reinstalled the game however, i cant seem to find the PROFSAVE file under any folder in my pc. I tried a searching with a few different names that ai recommended, but no luck. I even ran the game, changed some settings, closed it and searched file explorer for files modified that same day, but nothing from bf6 pops up.

What could be the issue with my game? could it be the fact that the PROFSAVE tweaks i did in the past are now not applied since i cant find the file and thats whats accounting for my huge drop in performance?

My specs:

I5 10400f
RTX 2080
32GB DDR4 ram @ 2666 MHz ( my chipset does not support higher speeds, so i cant use an XMP to run higher ram speeds, although my ram can run up to 3200 MHz)
2TB samsumg 990 pro NVMe
250GB SSD
1TB generic hardrive
ASRock B460M motherboard.

My CFG commands:

perfoverlay.drawfps 1

perfoverlay.drawgpu 0

perfoverlay.drawsim 0

perfoverlay.drawpixelthroughput 0

perfoverlay.fpstimeperiod 1

perfoverlay.fpsdisplayformat 3

perfoverlay.fpsdisplayoffsetx 1400

perfoverlay.fpsdisplayoffsety -50

worldrender.motionblurquality 0

worldrender.motionblurradialblurmax 0

worldrender.motionblurenable 0

postprocess.dofmethod 0

Thread.ProcessorCount 6

Thread.MaxProcessorCount 6

Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0

Thread.JobThreadPriority 0

GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 12

WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0

WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0

WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0

WorldRender.DynamicEnvmapEnable 0

WorldRender.SsrEnable 0

WorldRender.PlanarReflectionEnable 0

WorldRender.LodScale 0.1

WorldRender.ViewDistanceScale 0.1

WorldRender.MeshLODDistanceScale 0.1

Pls someone help 😣

  • Hello friend!

According to Penguin and other benchmarks from online searches, this is very often from the get-go a CPU bottleneck situation by using I5 10400f in the first place for Battlefield 6.

    Penguin suggest despite to this:

If Penguin was in the same boat then the first thing for testing would be to make it match the CPU's logical thread count👇

    Thread.ProcessorCount 12
    Thread.MaxProcessorCount 12

This might do nothing for higher FPS number, this is not the goal, stability comes first.

Penguin also thinks smoother thread scheduling can help reduce the chance of other forms of input spikes being affected during Battlefield 6 action too, since unstable frametimes and especially CPU spikes can sometimes indirectly affect overall responsiveness. (If CPU hangs, everything will)

What to look out for is not FPS but frametime stability, your current setting can allow for a more uneven CPU scheduling considering the worker threads are capped to 6 while the rendering side is attempting to use 12.

For testing purpose Penguin would also avoid :

    WorldRender.MeshStreamingEnable 0
    WorldRender.ForceLod 1

These FPS tweaks were helpful earlier in Battlefield games, but not necessarily in Battlefield 6, as Battlefield 6 today is far more CPU heavy and heavier in general.  To explain this briefly: (There's a processing threshold point where these tweaks can become unhelpful instead of helpful.)

To Penguin the missing PROFSAVE file is also point to deal with here.
This may be due to poor cloud sync, corrupted sync after having done the re-install.

Penguin suggest you make a copy of the old PROFSAVE file just in case if it exists.

    Perform a game file repair
Uninstall Javelin EA Anticheat completely, through the EAanitcheat installer from Main Game Folder.

Make sure to log out of EA app and back in.

Restart PC,  as well as Modem.

Log back into EA app/or Steam.

    Restart game.

These steps will very often give you a new non corrupted PROFSAVE file, only things that will get deleted is the Settings.
As game progress, achievements and all = safely stored in cloud and Battlefield 6 server! ☁️😎

In situations like this, stability comes first and max FPS tweaking = secondary! 😀

Prioritize average FPS over max FPS
Important, first and foremost look for settings giving the most stable 👉1% lows.

Feel free to post back over here if you're still stuck friend!

    Big Fan Of Battlefield!
    Many Thanks
    Penguin

i checked there and on every single game file in my pc, its not there and idk why.

  • Cannot really help with your problem - but, profsave etc are stored under 'users' then documents folder, then BF6 settings
