BF6 Help Needed - Persistent Crashes since Season 1
Hi, first of all, I'm not used to Reddit, and I'm bad with computers. But even my buddies who are good with them don't know what's happening. Please forgive an Illiterate Computer Lamen like me
Here are my issues:
Symptoms: Approx. Mid-match (every match), the game world freezes completely. I can sometimes still look around freely with the mouse, but all players/vehicles stop moving, and audio sometimes continues. This usually persists for 10–30 seconds before either a Crash to Desktop or forcing me to Alt+F4, and rarely (happening 2-3 times), a full system reboot.
This issue has persisted regularly after the Season 1 Update (before then, I could run it perfectly fine). Around the time season 1 came around, I could play a match or two then it'd crash. Then it just got worse somehow. I don't know what the issue is because again, I was able to play it perfectly fine for many weeks after release on full graphics & everything. Frequency: Happens almost every session, usually within 15–30 minutes of play, or sometimes 5 seconds after loading into a match. I can spend however long I want in the main menu, shop, etc., but whenever I play a match is when there are issues.
- Hardware: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Intel 13th/14th Gen CPU, 32GB RAM.
- ERROR LOGS: Error Logs (WinDbg Analysis):
- Primary Error (it seems): EXCEPTION_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005 - Access Violation.
- Specific Module: ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull (AMD FSR code path failure, despite using an NVIDIA card).
Extensive Troubleshooting Performed (To No Avail)
- Drivers: Full DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) wipe in Safe Mode, followed by a clean install of the latest NVIDIA drivers.(This was a whole bunch of headache for nothing)
- Memory/Page File: Manually set a 30,000 MB Page File on the SSD to prevent memory "Access Violations".
- Verified/Reinstalled Game Files: Verified Steam file integrity multiple times and performed a full game reinstallation 3 separate times.
- Software Mitigations: * Applied "Exploit Protection" (CFG) overrides for the .exe. Used "-bEnableGlimpse 0" launch arguments.
- Deleted the Documents/Battlefield 6 settings folder and cleared shader caches.
- In-Game Settings: Disabled Ray Tracing, DLSS, and FSR; capped frame rates.
My hardware is well above the recommended specifications. Friends with similar high-end builds have had to replace entire GPUs to fix this, but given the specific ffxFsr2 error in my logs, this appears to be an engine-level memory management bug rather than a hardware failure.
I am seeking a technical explanation or a specific workaround that doesn't involve hardware replacement or disabling core CPU features. If anyone could even remotely help, I'd be eternally grateful, and I'd love to pay ya back somehow lol idk how. I'd be happy to pocket medic for life, anyone who can figure this out.
