BF6 Hitting 100% CPU Usage Causing Lag/Stutter/Latency/Slo-Mo Issues

I play on PC, bought the phantom edition on steam for BF6 and played the beta. In the Beta, my game was genuinely unplayable. the constant frame drops and audio tearing made me try everything I could find online about how to fix it and nothing did. now that the game is officially out, I booted it up and it was completely fine (100+ fps no lag nothing) until about 30 minutes in game when boom. instant frame drops, audio tearing, CPU usage at 100%. I cannot find a single fix and I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one dealing with this issue.

It looks like you have a high framerate. Although to see the real framerate, multi frame would need to be turned off.

CPU-Z says the RAM is in dual channel mode. That's good!

I would compare with the .cfg file and without. See which one gives higher frame rates.

How many frames per second are you gettings?

Type this to see fps in top right corner of screen. PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1

    Here's some CPU troubleshooting tips.

Some of the CPU cores might be maxing out at 100% usage. To check if there are any CPU cores hitting 100% usage, open the Windows Task Manager CPU graph.

    • Run the game in windowed mode (alt + enter)
    • Open Task Manager (alt + ctrl + del)
    • Open the Performance tab, then right-click on the CPU graph and choose "Change graph to > Logical processors".
    • Set Task Manager to 'always on top' by clicking option

Now you can play the game and monitor per core CPU usage. If any CPU core hits 100% usage the game will stutter.

Also check if the CPU frequency is slowing down in Windows Task Manager. For example, below 3GHz.

Download CPU-Z and verify CPU RAM memory is in dual channel mode.

Make sure XMP/EXPO memory overclocking is enabled in BIOS settings.

You have an older CPU, so it makes sense it's running a little maxed out. Try running on lower graphics settings, perhaps?
I have a 9800X3D and PNY 5080. When I'm playing, they both sit around 60% use.

  • my pc specs are ryzen 7 5800x, 32gb ram, and rtx 5070, just opening battlefield alone (85%CPU) and can reach 100% total cpu usage but the gpu is only 40-50% please help me I am using steam
