BF6 Not Launching Failing Silently on Javelin Anti-Cheat
Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue launching Battlefield 6 through Steam and I haven’t been able to fix it despite trying basically every recommended troubleshooting step.
What happens:
I click Play in Steam
Steam shows “Launching”
The Battlefield 6 splash screen appears
It says “Launching Javelin Anti-Cheat”
Then the game closes silently and never launches
There are no error messages, crashes, or popups.
Things I’ve already tried:
- Full reinstall of the game
Verified game files in Steam
Restarted PC multiple times
Run Steam and EA App as Administrator
Launched EA App manually before starting the game
Disabled overlays/background apps
Updated GPU drivers
Updated chipset drivers and Windows
Installed latest Visual C++ redistributables
Checked Windows Defender/Firewall
Closed monitoring software and RGB software
Reinstalled and repaired Javelin Anti-Cheat manually
Latest drivers installed for everything
Additional info from Event Viewer:
I checked Windows Event Viewer after another failed launch and found Javelin Anti-Cheat related errors.
One error says:
“Failed Retrieving service path”
Another immediately after shows:
“Exit Type 95”
This happens right when the game stops launching after the “Launching Javelin Anti-Cheat” splash screen.
PC Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
GPU: RTX 3090
RAM: 32GB Corsair Dominator
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X570-E
At this point it seems like Javelin Anti-Cheat is failing silently before the game launches, possibly due to a broken or failed anti-cheat service installation.
Has anyone found a fix for this or seen the same issue?
