BF6 Won't Launch - Reproducible EA Javelin Crash - 0xe06d7363 / Event 7023

This appears to be a reproducible EA Javelin AntiCheat failure rather than a general BF6 crash. I have captured multiple independent Javelin crash dumps, and every dump produces the identical exception, EA executable offset, failure bucket, and failure hash. Standard EA troubleshooting and extensive system-level isolation have not changed the crash signature.

Summary
-------

Battlefield 6 repeatedly fails during startup because EA Javelin AntiCheat

terminates. This appears to be a reproducible Javelin/EA AntiCheat failure rather

than a general Battlefield 6 crash.

I captured multiple independent crash dumps from separate launch attempts. Every

dump shows the same eaanticheat.gameservice.exe version, exception, module-relative

offset, failure bucket, failure hash, and approximately 20-second process lifetime.

Extensive system and anti-cheat troubleshooting has not changed this signature.

I am requesting review by EA Javelin/AntiCheat engineering.

Observed Behavior and Reproduction
----------------------------------

1. Launch Battlefield 6.

2. The EA/Javelin anti-cheat splash appears.

3. The game begins its startup/loading sequence.

4. EA Javelin AntiCheat terminates and Battlefield 6 closes.

5. Windows records Service Control Manager Event ID 7023 for

EAAntiCheatService.

6. A new Javelin GameService crash dump may be generated.

The failure is repeatable. The affected process survives for approximately 20

seconds before throwing the exception.

Windows Event Evidence
----------------------

Repeated event:

Provider: Service Control Manager

Event ID: 7023

Service: EAAntiCheatService

Message: The EAAntiCheatService service terminated with the following error:

Crash dump exists in paging file.

An EA Javelin AntiCheat Event ID 1000 has also reported:

Failed retrieving service path

Repeated WinDbg Failure Signature
---------------------------------

Multiple independently captured dumps show the same signature:

Process: eaanticheat.gameservice.exe

Image version: 1.0.64026.0

Exception code: 0xe06d7363

Exception type: Microsoft C++ EH exception

Problem class: CPP_EXCEPTION

Failure bucket: CPP_EXCEPTION_e06d7363_eaanticheat.gameservice.exe!Unknown

Module offset: eaanticheat_gameservice_exe+f2e630

Failure ID hash: {840d9a6b-415e-2d66-2860-ca7cb794f3b1}

Process uptime: Approximately 20 seconds

Representative symbolic stack information:

KERNELBASE!RaiseException+0x8a

eaanticheat_gameservice_exe+0xf2e630

The identical exception, EA executable offset, bucket, and hash across separate

launch attempts indicate a deterministic failure in the same Javelin code path.

Public symbols are not available to identify the internal function or the

condition that triggers the exception.

For public privacy and security hygiene, raw register values, absolute memory

addresses, exception parameter addresses, and the unique dump number have been

removed from this report. Representative dump name: GameService_[redacted].dmp.

System and Security Configuration
---------------------------------

Operating system: Windows 11 Pro

Windows version: 25H2

OS build: 26200.9168

Windows Insider enrollment: Not enrolled

Boot mode: UEFI (winload.efi)

Secure Boot: Enabled / True

TPM present: True

TPM ready: True

TPM enabled: True

TPM activated: True

TPM ManagedAuthLevel: Full

Virtualization-Based Security: Running (status 2)

HypervisorPresent: True

Some legacy Windows APIs and dump metadata display generic labels such as

"Windows 10," version "2009," or OS version 10.0.26100.1. Winver independently

confirmed Windows 11 Pro 25H2, build 26200.9168. The Windows Insider settings page

shows the option to join, confirming that the PC is not currently enrolled.

EA Javelin Component
--------------------

Product: EA Javelin AntiCheat

Process: eaanticheat.gameservice.exe

Image/file version: 1.0.64026.0

Installation directory: C:\Program Files\EA\AC\

Associated service: EAAntiCheatService

Troubleshooting Already Completed
---------------------------------

- Updated the system BIOS.

- Performed a clean installation of the NVIDIA graphics driver.

- Removed Norton and confirmed Microsoft Defender became the active antivirus.

- Clean-reinstalled EA Javelin AntiCheat, including recreation of its installation

and service.

- Isolated or removed Javelin remnants before reinstalling and confirmed the

current files exist under C:\Program Files\EA\AC\.

- Performed clean-boot and service-isolation testing.

- Updated Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU), then removed it for controlled

testing; also investigated the XTUComponent kernel driver.

- Temporarily disabled CTIIO / CtiIo64.sys for testing, then restored it. The

driver was verified as signed by Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility

Publisher.

- Removed or disabled Gigabyte utilities during controlled testing.

- Verified Secure Boot is enabled.

- Verified TPM is present, ready, enabled, and activated.

- Verified Virtualization-Based Security is running.

- Verified HypervisorPresent is True and the system boots through UEFI.

- Verified the PC is not enrolled in the Windows Insider Program.

- Captured and analyzed multiple independent Javelin crash dumps with WinDbg.

None of these controlled changes altered the exception, Javelin executable offset,

failure bucket, failure hash, or repeated Event 7023 behavior.

Questions and Request for EA Javelin Engineering
------------------------------------------------

1. What internal Javelin function and failure condition correspond to module-

relative offset eaanticheat_gameservice_exe+f2e630 in build 1.0.64026.0?

2. Does EA crash telemetry contain other occurrences of failure hash

{840d9a6b-415e-2d66-2860-ca7cb794f3b1} or failure bucket

CPP_EXCEPTION_e06d7363_eaanticheat.gameservice.exe!Unknown?

3. Is this a known issue in Javelin 1.0.64026.0, Battlefield 6, or the interaction

between Javelin and Windows 11 25H2 build 26200.9168?

4. Is Event 1000, "Failed retrieving service path," related to the subsequent C++

exception and Service Control Manager Event 7023?

5. What service path, registry entry, installation metadata, or permission does

Javelin attempt to retrieve immediately before that error, and what diagnostic

data can verify the lookup?

6. Is a newer Javelin build, hotfix, configuration reset, logging option, or

engineering-level workaround available?

7. Can EA use private symbols to analyze the original dumps and identify the

thrown C++ exception type and precise internal code path?

Dump Availability
-----------------

Original dump files from multiple independent crash occurrences are available to

EA engineering through an approved secure transfer method. They are not being

posted publicly. Please provide secure transfer instructions if engineering needs

the original files.

Requested Disposition
---------------------

Please route this report and the available dump evidence to EA Javelin/AntiCheat

engineering. The central reproducible signature is:

eaanticheat.gameservice.exe version 1.0.64026.0

Exception 0xe06d7363

CPP_EXCEPTION_e06d7363_eaanticheat.gameservice.exe!Unknown

eaanticheat_gameservice_exe+f2e630

{840d9a6b-415e-2d66-2860-ca7cb794f3b1}

  • If Intel 13. or 14. Gen -> Update BIOS to last version to get newest Intel microcode. If that does not solve the problem lower cpu core ratio multiplier to 40 and test. if its stable go step by step up until it starts crashing again.

With updated BIOS and lowered CPU Core Ratio i dont know what to suggest next. You can add a DXDiag for EA Staff to collect as inforamtion.

  • BF6 consistently fails to launch because EA Javelin AntiCheat GameService crashes during startup. I have reproduced this many times across reboots, Javelin repairs/reinstalls, software removals, driver-isolation tests, permission changes, and CPU configuration changes.

Every crash dump I have analyzed continues to produce the same Javelin failure signature:

    PROCESS_NAME: eaanticheat.gameservice.exe

    IMAGE_VERSION: 1.0.64026.0

    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: CPP_EXCEPTION_e06d7363_eaanticheat.gameservice.exe!Unknown

    EXCEPTION_CODE: 0xe06d7363

    SYMBOL_NAME: eaanticheat_gameservice_exe+f2e630

    FAILURE_ID_HASH: {840d9a6b-415e-2d66-2860-ca7cb794f3b1}

Event Viewer also records EAAntiCheatService Event ID 7023 when the launch fails.

    System:

    Windows 11 Pro 25H2, Build 26200.9168

    Intel Core i7-14700K

    Secure Boot enabled

TPM present, enabled, activated, and ready

    VBS running

    Hypervisor present

    Not enrolled in Windows Insider

    Troubleshooting completed:

Repaired/reinstalled EA Javelin AntiCheat multiple times.

Performed a clean Javelin repair with the EA App completely closed.

Verified EAAntiCheatService registration and service path.

Verified service path is C:\Program Files\EA\AC\eaanticheat.gameservice.exe

Tested EA App both normally and as Administrator.

Removed Norton 360 for Gamers and confirmed Norton kernel drivers were no longer loaded.

Removed Intel XTU and confirmed XTUComponent was no longer loaded.

Removed Gigabyte EasyTune, RGB Fusion, Smart Backup, and other unnecessary Gigabyte utilities.

Removed Corsair iCUE and Corsair Device Control software.

Tested with MSIO/MsIo64.sys disabled and stopped.

    Previously isolated/tested CTIIO.

Checked Easy Anti-Cheat and Easy Anti-Cheat EOS. Both services are stopped/manual and no matching Easy Anti-Cheat kernel driver is loaded.

    Tested Intel i7-14700K P-core ratios at 50x, 45x, and 40x.

None of these changes altered the Javelin crash signature.

The most recent crash still reports:

    0xe06d7363

    eaanticheat_gameservice_exe+f2e630

    {840d9a6b-415e-2d66-2860-ca7cb794f3b1}

    Javelin version 1.0.64026.0

The GameService process usually crashes about 20 to 23 seconds after starting.

    Request for EA/Javelin Engineering:

Please escalate this to the EA Javelin AntiCheat engineering team.

Can EA determine what internal condition at eaanticheat.gameservice.exe + 0xF2E630 is causing GameService version 1.0.64026.0 to raise this C++ exception?

I have multiple independent GameService .dmp files that reproduce the same exception, module offset, and failure hash. I can provide them privately to EA if a secure upload method is available.

I can also provide sanitized WinDbg !analyze -v output.

    Note on Windows version reporting:

WinDbg reports OSNAME: Windows 10 and OS_VERSION: 10.0.26100.1 in the dump metadata. However, the installed OS was independently verified with winver as Windows 11 Pro, Version 25H2, OS Build 26200.9168. The PC is not enrolled in the Windows Insider Program.

If anyone else is experiencing this BF6 launch failure, please check your GameService dump for eaanticheat_gameservice_exe+f2e630 or failure hash {840d9a6b-415e-2d66-2860-ca7cb794f3b1}. If you have the same signature, please reply with your CPU, Windows build, Javelin version, and failure hash.
