Can't invite new friends via EA Connect

I play on Steam, and my friend plays on PlayStation. Yesterday, I couldn’t join his party, and I couldn’t send him an invite — he couldn’t either. I removed him from my friends list and tried adding him again, but he doesn’t see my friend request at all, and for him, the option to send me an invite is greyed out. My account is linked to PSN, Xbox, and Steam. I even tried through Discord, but it didn’t work. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
