Consistent lag issue

Game:
Battlefield 6

Platform:

Steam

PC Specs:
Windows 11 Home (Version 25H2, OS Build 26200.8524)
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core processor
32 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super

Router:
ASUS RT-AC5300 (Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_48439)

As of late I have been having issues with an oddly consistent lag.

Previously, when I was lagging, I would experience the usual lag issues (rubber banding, hits not counting, player teleportation).  Recently though, I have been cursed with something that is far worse- a consistent and constant lag.

Game play feels like I'm "running in wet sand" and the lag is so bad that I can't even skip a revive. I have also started to see icons in the top left corner of my screen, one of which is a solid vertical bar icon that I have not been able to find any information about online.

I have had no lag issues with any other games, I have taken my computer to someone else's house and tried playing BF6 there, I have checked every setting that I can on my router, and I have done a Steam repair protocol.  As I type this, I am doing a complete uninstall and reinstall as my last ditch effort to fix this issue.

This game has become unplayable at this point and I am beyond disappointed 💔

Hello, sorry to hear you're running into this.

Regarding the meaning of those icons, please refer to the image below.

Have you tested with a wired connection? Our troubleshooting guide also contains additional steps, so I'd recommend working through them one by one.

How to troubleshoot high ping and lag in Battlefield 6

If none of those help, please also try the following:

    1. Repair or reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables.
    2. Use DDU to completely remove your current graphics driver, then perform a clean reinstall.
    3. Disable all overlays, monitoring tools, and recording software (Steam, EA App, Discord overlays, NVIDIA/AMD overlays, RTSS, MSI Afterburner, etc.).
    4. Uninstall the HD Texture Packs
    • Open your game library and locate Battlefield 6.
    • Right-click the game and select Properties.
    • Go to the DLC tab and uncheck:
    • Single Player HD Textures
    • HD Textures
    • Combined Multiplayer & Single Player HD Textures
    • Multiplayer HD Textures
    • Single Player (if you don't plan to play the campaign for now)
    • REDSEC HD Textures

You can also provide a DxDiag report, and I'll take a closer look.
