Crashing to Desktop

As many other I played in beta with little Issues but since full release the Game crashes to Desktop consistently after 5-15 minutes without any error.

There are 2 ways these crashes play out:

1: Game freezes for a second and immediately closes completely.

2:All objects get frozen in place, idle animations and ambient sounds continue. I lose control over my character except mouse movement so i can look around in the "frozen" scene. While in this state my friend on discord tells me that i am no longer in the lobby. This continues for a few seconds until it eventually fully crashes. Again with no error message or anything.

While the game runs it runs smoothly; my PC is not pushing its capacities.

Specs:

i7-14700KF

RTX 4070Ti

32GB RAM

MSI MAG B760 TOMAHAWK WIFI

Win11 latest update

playing on steam

All drivers up to date, a whole slew of possible fixes tried including:

Disabling all kinds of Overlays, some specific Graphics settings, repairing, reinstalling and starting every conceivable piece of software as admin, some exploit protection settings nonsense etc etc.

Any users with Helpful input is appreciated but im pretty confident at this point nobody found a fix so im mainly posting for visibility so EA can at least ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEMS EXISTENCE. Thanks

Same, happend for the first time today...

  • So just for update. After session 1 update the game started crashing again to desktop in both Battelefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC, despite the changes I have already made. Untill now it worker after changes I have described bellow, but now, non of them helped. Thanks EA & DICE, for this 70e experience!

I just bought the game, my PC runs it at over 144 FPS, and I'm not even using its full capacity. Even so, the game simply closes itself without any error or message. I've tried reinstalling the game, updating the drivers, and Windows, but the problem still persists

Hey, maybe this fixed, i disabled XMP/EXPO in the bios, played like 5 matches with no game closing, try this.

  • I'm having the same issue. I can get into a multi player match and then load in 10 seconds later I crash to desk top. No error and EA app closes also. I played  in LABs, BETA, and the terrible launch with the EA app, But it didn't crash ever Until the BR launch then this started happening. I had these issues with 2042 Also The common thread here is DICE messing things up as usual.  DxDiag is a foreign language to me so any help? Thank you in advance. It happens in all modes. even the firing range. I completed the campaign so I unistalled that.

Terrible_Trips The DXDIAG report looks pretty good. It does indicate there may be something going on with memory - could be the game not handling it well; could be there's something up with your memory. My first steps would be checking memory settings in BIOS and running a memory test.

You can also try reverting your GPU driver to a previous version, although I kind of doubt that's the issue.

Thank you for the quick response Will check the memory. I did revert GPU drivers to the one that was working, didn't help.

  • So again I was experimenting and tried increase RAM voltage from 1.35V to 1.38V. I also disabled in-game performance monitoring. Was playing for about 2 hours and no crashes yet, so seems like that helped. Terrible_Trips D4NTT jowss76

Quick update - no more crashes for me. I can play Battlefield 6 & Battlefield REDSEC without issues. I was playing for more than 5 hours without crash. Before, I could not play for more than 15 minutes. So give it a try

Guys, i know you don't want to read this here but the only way i find to not crash (crash to windows without error message) is to turn of my overclocking and the XMP.
The XMP alone turned off isn't enough.
I presume that my OC was too violent for the game (CPU 100°) and it made it unstable i think (same case with bf2042 but absolutely no crash)
I will turn on my OC back but hand made and not letting my motherboard do it by its own

I've tried more or less everything i have find here, on reddit and by using chat-gpt. Nothing worked.

Sadly, only turning off my OC worked :(
But at least i can play until i find a better OC !
