TN over 600 ms

Hi all,

Since the launch of the game I've been suffering horrible lag when playing big game modes (32vs32), but smaller ones (16vs16 or 8vs8) were working fine.

Today I decided to activate all network graphics to try and see what was going on.
In the match I could see that I had no packet loss at all, but I saw two things

My latency variation was 7-8 ms, which is not fine but I don't think is the issue
My TN was way over 600 when the game was lagging. I have no idea what is this TN but I'm quite positive that's the problem. How can I fix this?

My specs:
CPU: i7-11700F @ 2.5GHZ
RAM: 16GB
GPU: GeForce RTX 3060

II have 100 Mbps via cable from Estonia.
The game is optimized using Nvidia app

If you could help me I would really appreciate it, as I love the game but I can't play it.

Please download HWiNFO and post a screenshot of your System Summary.

Also post a screenshot with the FPS Performance Overlay on-screen. Set it to advanced.

25_Nivo I see 3 issues in your screenshots.

The first issue is the memory is in single channel mode because there's only one memory stick plugged into the motherboard. Dual channel mode requires two identical memory sticks plugged into the motherboard.

Dual channel mode has twice the memory bandwidth compared to single channel mode. This is the main reason why your CPU performance is low in BF6.

Try to find another 16GB HP memory stick with the exact same part number. The part number is printed on the memory stick. Refer to your motherboard's user manual for which memory slots the two memory sticks should be plugged into.

The second issue I see is XMP memory overclocking isn't enabled in motherboard BIOS settings. Memory overclocking can cause crashing, so personal message me if you start to crash.

The third issue I see is graphics card VRAM is maxed out at 12GB. Uninstall the HD Texture Pack for BF6 to lower VRAM usage.

Hi, also with the information of the game I saw that my CPU never went into overcloking, so it's frequency was maxed at 2.2 GHz.
This made the game better but still some issues, I will try with what you are saying.

Also, do you know why if I join a community server (normal conquest) game runs smoothly but in a normal server it doesn't? Just wondering.

Official servers have a 60Hz network tick rate, which requires a framerate of 60fps or more. If the framerate drops below 60fps than the computer can no long process 60 network packets per second. This leads to time nudge (TN) lag.

Community servers have a 30Hz network tick rate. Which only require a framerate of 30fps or more.

  • lowering resolution to 1080p and capping frames at 30 fps reduces my time nudge dramatically but it makes the game feel horrible to play

  • Everything was working fine for me until today (played 4 hours yesterday with no problem), but today for no reason every time I start a game it randomly crashes after 1 to 2 minutes with no error code or anything, straight to the desktop. But before crashing and at the start of the game TN goes up to 400/500.
