Solved

DirectX error message, can't get into a game,

Game played fine for the first three or four days.  Then, I click on a game-mode, like conquest, I get the attached error message, then it crashes.  I've tried a number of different fixes, to include updating drivers, and uninstall, reinstall, playing as admin, and others, and nothing works.

Hi! I solved the problem! I hope this could solve also for you. Go to Settings -> Graphic -> Advanced -> Mesh Quality -> Low. Hope this could help!

  • Same here... it's a Known issue, I think. They need to release another patch. Problems started with last update. Before I was playing without problems on Nvidia 1080 TI Waterforce - i7-8700k and last driver update. The single player campaign works fine.

Thanks for commenting.  I'd buy a whole new PC if that's what it takes, but considering that the game played fine for ~three days I don't think that's needed.

That did it!  My sincere thanks.  It's strange, though, that it played fine for about three days with the graphics on default settings.  "Oh well."

  • Same.  Only since the new update.  Game crashes, DirectX issues, etc.  Hopefully, they patch it again soon.

MainframeTV's suggestion, lowering Mesh Quality to Low, worked for me.  Best of luck to you.

Yeah, that was strange. Also for me the same problem. I think that some bug occured during update in Mesh settings

I'm sorry to hear that you can't play Multiplayer.  Don't give up.  I've been playing Battlefield for twenty-three years and these things always get resolved, one way or another.  With one Battlefield game, I don't remember which one, I had to buy and install a new graphics-card.

Still active CW4 here MSG.  I chatted with EA for over 2 hours and did their "troubleshooting" steps just for them to finally admit it is a known issue with AMD and NVIDIA drivers.  They say they are working on a fix.  My rig details are below and I should have no issues running any game and I don't have any issues running any other game, to include BF games, other than BF6.
