DSX developer here - need clarification on BF6 anti-cheat system
Hey everyone,
I’m the developer of DSX, a Steam app that lets people use DualSense and DualShock controllers on PC. DSX doesn’t give any gameplay advantage. It just handles controller emulation and things like haptics and adaptive triggers.
I’ve seen a few reports from players saying Battlefield 6 crashes when DSX is active. In my own testing:
- The game loaded slowly when a virtual controller was enabled.
- After switching emulation mode, it loaded fine.
- I haven’t had any issues since.
Right now it’s not clear if DSX is actually being flagged or if those reports are unrelated. I just want to make sure DSX isn’t being picked up by anti-cheat, since it doesn’t hook or modify the game in any way.
If DSX is on some kind of flag or block list, I’d like to know why so I can work around it. I can disable certain features or adjust how it behaves when BF6 is running if needed. The goal here is to make sure players can keep using their controllers without triggering anything.
If someone from the EA/Battlefield team or a mod can confirm whether DSX is allowed and if there’s anything specific causing issues, that would help a lot of players out. I’m also happy to work directly with EA to make sure everything’s clean and compliant if needed.
