Subject: DX12 Crash – Battlefield 6 (RTX 4080, Driver 581.42)
Message:
Hi EA Support,
I’m experiencing repeated DirectX 12 crashes in Battlefield 6. Below are my full system and issue details as requested.
EA ID / Steam ID:
antec
OS Version:
Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (Version 23H2, Build 22631.xxx)
GPU:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080
GPU Driver:
Game Ready Driver 581.42 (latest version)
Date/time issue occurred:
October 13, 2025 – around 6:30 PM (CET)
Summarize your bug:
When starting or playing Battlefield 6, the game crashes with a DirectX 12 error message:
"Direct function 'm_submitFencePlat->GetCompletedValueD' failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED. DeviceRemovedReason: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG."
The game freezes for a few seconds and then crashes to desktop.
What type of issue do you have?
Crash – DX12 Device Removed / Hung error
In which mode has this happened?
Multiplayer – occurs during loading or within the first few minutes of a match.
Any other errors?
No other in-game messages. Windows Event Viewer shows an "nvlddmkm.sys" error.
GPU and CPU temperatures are normal.
No overclocking. Issue persists even after a clean driver reinstall (DDU used).
Additional observation:
The issue seems related to display scaling or non-native resolutions.
When I switch from my native resolution 3440x1440 (21:9) to a lower one like 2560x1080, the image becomes stretched or flattened and the game soon crashes with the same DXGI error.
At native 3440x1440 the issue occurs less frequently.
It looks like resolution scaling or aspect ratio changes in DirectX 12 mode can trigger a rendering or driver instability.
I do not experience this issue on PlayStation 5, so it appears specific to the PC/DX12 version.
Thank you for your help in investigating this issue.
Best regards,
Alexis
