EA Javelin Anti-Cheat Returns Error 95 after Javelin May 21 Update

Unlike some other posts on this forum, this issue has not been happening since a specific Battlefield 6 season, rather possibly an update to the Javelin anti-cheat that was on May 21 (link goes to SteamDB depot change for Javelin on May 21) Currently when trying to boot up Battlefield 6, one of two things will happen:

  1. Sometimes the game will crash after booted up for like a minute
  2. Most of the time will show the anti-cheat error before going into full-screen.

Here's what I've tried already:

  • Clearing the "settings" folder under "%userprofile%/Documents/Battlefield 6" (user settings obviously)
  • Repairing the game via Steam (Right click game > "Properties" > "Installed Files" > "Verify integrity (...)")
  • Reinstalling the game via Steam
  • Reinstalling Javelin--twice
  • Checking BIOS for both Secure Boot & TPM (which would show a different error but is common)
  • Disabling all non-Microsoft services EXCEPT FOR anything under Valve/Steam & EA/Javelin and also disabling any startup applications via Task Manager
    • The reason for the two exceptions for the services are of course for launching the game fully.

All of this and no changes.

I also have video evidence with me going through my system if that's of interest, but honestly shouldn't be needed.

Possible Issue-Makers:

  • AMD Chipset Update (8.05.04.516)
    • I updated my AMD CPU drivers on the 20th--might be the biggest one to look into.
  • Xbox Gaming Services (36.113.2002)
    • Most likely not but is to note as a recent update was pushed out in the early access era of Forza Horizon 6 which was around May 13, but I personally installed on May 19.
  • Microsoft GameInput
    • Probably not the issue, but was installed on May 19.
  • EA Javelin Anti-Cheat (May 21 Update (Manifest ID 7504058622051201888))
    • Could be the just a bug with **bleep** thing--who knows!

Computer Specs:

  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B650E-E WIFI
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5 @ 6000MHz
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER
  • OS: Windows 10 22H2 (10.0.19045.6466)
  • Hyper-V: On

  • Forgot to add--the last time I played was May 18--3 days before the recent Javelin update.
When I said "going into full-screen", I meant when Battlefield 6 itself would usually go into full-screen, the anti-cheat error would appear.
The file/screenshot attached to the original message is a screenshot of a Javelin error/warning message saying, "EA Javelin Anticheat has detected an unacceptable configuration. Please ensure no cheat-related or tampering software is active and restart the game. (95)" Full text provided due to any reason of the image not loading, being deleted or inaccessible for some viewers.

How to install and troubleshoot EA Javelin anticheat on PC

    • EA Javelin anticheat will shut down the game and our services if you use cheat tools. Turning off or uninstalling conflicting software can help you get back in the game.
    • Certain VPN and proxy software can cause Javelin to run incorrectly, so we recommend disabling or removing them.
    • Javelin prevents some outdated software from running at the same time as your game. Make sure you have the latest device updates and versions of all software, including your fan control interface and similar hardware-related software.
    • If you’re getting this message on the ASUS ROG Ally handheld series, upgrade to the latest version of the ASUS Armoury Crate.

Let us know how you get on with these steps and which, if any, have helped you. Thank you. EA_Barry.

    1. What type of "tools" would that be? Like mentioned in the original message, I've already tested with no applications in the background so this is not the case. While keeping in mind the list I already put in the original message, the only other apps that really pop out at me when looking back at my footage is:
      1. AMD Software
      2. Hyper-V
      3. Gaming Services (like mentioned in the original message)
      4. Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
    2. I've tested without any VPN &/or proxy software--read above.
    3. I always make sure to keep my system up-to-date, so this is not the case either.
    4. I am not using the ROG Ally.
  • I'm having what sounds like the exact same problem since may 21, no problems the day before. Game exits within a couple of minutes of starting without an error message. Event Viewer reports  the same error from EA Javelin Anticheat – "ExitType: 95 (81)".

I've tried basically the same steps as Frametrick. (And obviously I'm not running any cheating software)

  • тоже самое только в battlefield 1

    з.ы

игра запустилась, помогло - отключил в службах services.msc "журнал событий Windows"
