ERROR CODE 0:85009S - Kicked after 5 mins (I've tried literally EVERYTHING)

Hey everyone,

I am reaching out here because I am completely at my wit's end with Error Code 0:85009S. I recently did a fresh reinstall of Windows, and ever since then, I cannot stay in a match for more than 5 minutes before getting kicked. It is absolutely outrageous and is making it impossible to play with my friends.

I want to be clear that I have already tried everything usually suggested for network and anti-cheat issues. Here is the list of troubleshooting steps I have already gone through, none of which worked:

  • Switched to Google DNS and Cloudflare DNS
  • Completely disabled IPv6
  • Reset and reinstalled all drivers
  • Hard reset my router
  • Verified the game cache and local files
  • Repaired the EA Anti-Cheat (EA AC)

Nothing is working. The game just boots me out after 5 minutes, almost on the dot. Has anyone actually found a working fix for this specific error code? I am out of ideas and just want to play the game.

Thanks in advance.

    Hey fwulii13

Appreciate you sharing the steps you've already tried.

Just to try and narrow things down. I'd like you to try a couple things for me. I appreciate you've already done a lot of things to work the problem but just to fully rule out some potential causes there's going to be some steps below I'd like you to try.

Try a Clean boot of Windows : If you are unsure how to do this you can follow this guide here from Microsoft
     - Disable all non-Microsoft services and Startup apps. Fresh installs of windows can often pull in different third party software like RGB or Monitoring tools such as iCue, Armoury Crate, MSI Afterburner etc that could potentially be flagged by EA Anticheat after a few minutes.

Perform a full EA Anti-Cheat reinstall (Not a repair) : remove and delete residual folders (Located in Program files and Program data) and let the game do a full reinstall cleanly.

Do a Windows Security State check : Make sure that Secure boot is ON, TPM is enabled, Memory Integrity (Core Isolation) ON (Be aware this can affect performance) Fresh installs can sometimes change these elements.

Do a quick hotspot test: by connecting to a hotspot from your phone for example we can rule out if this is a connection specific issue. If the issue still crops up after 5 minutes theres a decent chance that this may be specifically a Background conflict or a security configuration issue.

Please give these steps a try and let me know if you still run into the problem and we'll see what else we can do for you.
