Error on the splash screen

Update on this:
I was wrong about there not being logging. I did end up finding a DMP file at %LocalAppData%/CrashDumps. Ill investigate fuethure with WinDbg later but the error print is:

(2504.6a94): Security check failure or stack buffer overrun - code c0000409 (first/second chance not available)
Subcode: 0x3 FAST_FAIL_CORRUPT_LIST_ENTRY

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: FAIL_FAST_CORRUPT_LIST_ENTRY_c0000409_gameoverlayrenderer64.dll!Unknown

gameoverlayrenderer64.dll is the steam overlay. renamed it and then got another dmp for windows.storage.dll

Guess the next testing is to play with some of win defenders settings as it relates to memory

None of the additional debugging I did provided any new insight or path forward so guess ill be refunding this title. Even tried safe mode to no avail xD. Not formatting my PC to play a game, and thats about the last thing to try.

Using Steam on a Windows PC

When I try to run the game for the very first time, I keep getting "Failure during update process". I've run verify integrity, and I've deleted and reinstalled the game 2x. I'm still getting the issue.
