FYI for those with the Windows 11 and AMD Ryzen CPUs with discrete Nvidia GPUs

As of late April 2026, Microsoft has officially acknowledged that the KB5083769 Windows 11 Security Update affects PCs with AMD Ryzen CPUs and discrete Nvidia GPUs.

If you have this setup and haven't installed the update yet, it would be advisable to pause updates for seven days or more until a formal fix or 'Known Issue Rollback' has been fully deployed.

If you are already experiencing a boot loop, pixelated screens, random crashes, or freezes:

Force Recovery Mode: Turn the PC on and off three times while the boot logo is displayed to trigger the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).

The best option is to uninstall the KB5083769 update.

System Restore: If uninstalling fails, use a restore point from before 14 April 2026.
