Game Breaking Issue
I will keep it short and precise.
Issue: PC crashes/freezes & Game crashes/freezes
Setup:
- Nvidia 4070 TI Super - No OC
- AMD 7800X3D - No OC
- 32GB RAM JEDEC 4800 mt/s - EXPO I & II attempted at rated 6400 mt/s
- Asus Strix B650E-E Gaming Wifi
- 2x M.2 NVMe 1.8TB Samsung 980 Pro
- 3x 27" WQHD / 1x 240hz / 2x 60hz
- 1x 36" 4K TV 60hz
- PS5 controller
- Razer Viper v2 Pro
- Logitech G Pro X 2
- Asus Strix Scope 96 II Keyboard
Tested so far:
- BIOS update
- Drivers update
- DDU + New install of Nvidia driver
- Disable most Windows services that are not needed
- Disable Windows services + Background processes
- Launch in Safe Mode and delete unnecessary drivers/software/application
- Clean registry
- Check Nvidia setting as well as DirectX settings in registry
- Started with only EA & Battlefield 6 open, everything else on my PC was shut down, no background processes besides the needed ones, no apps, no services that weren't needed, no tasks no USBs, deactivated the AMD internal GPU, unplugged 3 of my 4 monitors - no difference.
- Finally re-installed Windows 11 24h2 installed nothing but EA + Battlefield 6 but still crashed even though I was very careful when installing drivers.
Issues Before New Install:
- ALC BSOD
- IRQL BSOD
- Hardware Fault BSOD
- PageFile BSOD
- DX Hardware Hung crash
- DX HArdware not responding crash
- No error Battlefield closes
After New Install (18 hours ago):
- No errors but Battelfield closes
- 1 PC Crash with EventViewer reporting -> BugcheckParameter1 0x61941 & 0x00020020
I am at an absolute and total loss of words and at my wits end.
It's been 4 days of constant troubleshooting without the possibility of enjoying the game.
DxDiag is attached.
The only thing I haven't tested thus far, is disable internal GPU again and disabling EXPO and use JEDEC only.
If anyone has an idea please, share.
Cheers,
Siles
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR POTENTIAL RESOLUTION ON BSODs & CRASHES & FREEZES & DIRECTX ERRORS !!!
INVOLVES AMD CPU + B650 CHIPSET + EXPO
After all my testing and failing on software, I though this must be hardware issue.
So I downloaded OCCT, and first ran the CPU+RAM Test.
It errored within 1 minute saying core 2 from my 7800X3D has errors.
I then tested the RAM solo, to avoid confusion, and it also threw error after less than 2 minutes.
Then I did what I said I would, I switched EXPO off and set my RAM Profile to Automatic i.e. JEDEC.
I then ran the OCCT again both CPU+RAM and RAM solo, and both tests had NO ERRORS even after 15+ minutes!!!!
So I went back enabled EXPO again, and sure enough OCCT had errors again after less than 2 minutes for each test.
-> So I CAN confirm, that at least for B650 / B650e chipsets and Ryzen 7000 chips, there is a definite issue for Battlefield/Frostbite <- @EA
This is only really visible in Battlefield due to the massive use between CPU and RAM, as I have had EXPO enabled since over a year and only had crashed in Valorant sometimes, which I didn't think much about, but Battlefield crashed/froze/forced BSODs multiple times in a row in an hour, it was unplayable for me.
So if you have issues like these, disable EXPO!
You do not really need EXPO anyways on an X3D processors, non-X3D will see an FPS drop.

EDIT:
I confirm after 4-5 hours of playing now, the issue is fixed!
