Game crashing to desktop - No error displayed

After browsing reddit it seems that I'm not the only person having this issue. I've tried all the recommended fixes – Disabling Smooth motion, changing my windows security settings, messing with my graphics settings, verifying the integrity of game files, restarting my pc, and the list goes on (it actually does) – yet still, nothing is preventing the issue at hand.

I load into Battlefield 6, queue up for REDSEC, get in the waiting room, sometimes even in game, but then the game crashes without any errors displaying, and without any stress on my system components (I'm checking with multiple different software during runtime).

I have no idea what is causing it, and neither does the other 20+ people on the reddit post. I've tried just about every solution out there, with no success. We shouldn't need a doctorate in computer science to be able to play a game. I'm super excited to play, was even going to buy membership & the full game, but until this issue is resolved, there's no way I'm buying a game I can't play. Pity for those on the post that already bought it.

I know you need more context as developers, but it's literally that simple. I installed the game > Changed to secure boot > Loaded up, got in game > Crashed > Verified files > Loaded up > Crashed > Checked Nvidia settings > Loaded up > Crashed > Lowered GPU Boost clock > Loaded up > Crashed > Restarted PC and ran default GPU settings > Loaded up, got in game > Crashed > Followed a video where I disabled exploit protection for the game and EAC > Loaded up, got in game > Crashed > Verified again > restarted PC > Verified again > Loaded up > Crashed > Loaded up PUBG > Got in game > Died > Loaded up Battlefield > Got in game > Crashed > Gave up.
I did do more than the above, I verified my c++ frameworks and a bunch of other stuff too, the only thing I can come up with is it's the game.

I'm in Australia, my internet provider is Starlink and my PC specs will be below. I'll answer any questions I can to help out.

PC Specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700K
RAM: 64GB DDR5 Corsair
Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming
GPU: TUF-RTX4070TIS 16GB DDR5

  • I don't see very much from the devs on the crashing issue. It would be pretty unfortunate if they don't address this in the near-term. It's the same exact issue for me, just crashing to desktop without an error message, usually from the first splash screen but sometimes after a few minutes of gameplay.

Try going into your windows settings, Go to windows updates, select Advanced options (It's under "more options"), select Optional updates, check whatever's there, and select download and install.

Let me know if this fixes it for you, I'm trying it now.

  • no mention of these issues even though its been 3 weeks since launch thousands of people are having these issues
